List building: Do I need to put in my address below my name?

We usually receive emails in which most internet marketers put in their office address below their first name and last name. Is it necessary to enter your physical address within each email?

If you use Aweber you have to give a physical address.

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, due to current spamming laws it's necessary. I know that it was a requirement for services I've used in the past.

It's now a requirement, I'm sure. You should be able to set it and forget it.

You're sure? You don't think that the law might vary a little between different countries like all other laws do, then?

It's absolutely necessary so that you stay in good standing with the can-spam act law! Make sure you have your real address in your email, you don't want any trouble.

I'm guessing that you really don't, Ronak.

Very few (if any) countries have the same rules as the US on this and other related points of online regulatory procedures.

The potential problem for you may (in future, if not now) be that some autoresponder companies, in order to attract US custmers, do voluntarily comply with all the "Can-Spam" procedural regulations. It's a complicated issue, and one that can depend not only on where you live, yourself, but on where sites/services are hosted. Sorry not to offer more certainty, but probably nobody other than possibly an Indian internet lawyer can be sure.

I side with Alexa. In the U.S. it is law but it policies vary from country to country.

For transparency purposes I would include it. Looks more professional.
