Product Name for the Domain Name?

I still don't know what the best thing to do for this is....so I want fresh opinions. I am in the toy niche and I'm working about purchasing product names as domains. For example, one of the toys I might target might be the barbie dream house. Am I going to get into trouble with the Barbie manufacturer if I purchase barbiedreamhouse.com? (just an example, of course).

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I would try my best to stay away from any domain names that contain business names in them. As for toy names, it depends on the name itself and what it contains.

There could be copyright issues, particularly if you're promoting through someone's affiliate program, like amazon. I got rejected from their program because I had the word "Nikon" in my domain.

You might get away with it for awhile. Maybe even long enough to make it worth your time. But don't be surprised when you get a cease and desist.

What are the terms of your affiliate network? Chances are that they even have a clause against using trademarks in domain names. And if they catch you, you risk being suspended from the affiliate program.

The best advice is simply don't do it.
