On redirect pages, What is the reason to include '5 Second delays' in redirected pages?

or even on a payment page, they have a 5 second delay on some peoples payment pages.

What are the main reasons of the delay? and can you do it Without the delay? (clickbank also have these delay between the: "Thank you, You have paid" -> Download page

But i am asking about redirect from the Order page -> Payment page

Hi entry, Some do it to allow the page graphics to load prior to showing the user
the page. Some say that it's better than allowing the user to visit a page and watch all
    the graphic images loading.

Others write scripts which require time to process info therefore the delay allows
    time for processing.

    Hope that Helps,
    Have a Great Day!

Not in the case you are asking about but some systems
also build in time to allow the payment processor to update
the database before delivering the order. So, Paypal may
need to send a confirmation to the website/system's database,
before the script verifies that the order went through and
forwards the customer to the download page.

Without the delay, those scripts often show an order as
unknown or unverified simply because they haven't allowed
time for Paypal or whatever processor to update the database.
