When you're writing an article about some marketing product or service, if you had reserved majority of words on your article for the Promotion of your product or service, it's useless. people don't like to read them and they'll neglect you, so write something valuable for your readers and next Just promote your item less than 10 words at the best places of your article.

it males sense. someone reading an article wants information, not a sales pitch

It is definitely a fine line when trying to get an effective article out there.

If it is focused too much on selling....it stinks
If you give too much information....they have no reason to go where you want them to go.

I've had my best effectiveness when I follow this fomula:

Part 1 - Introduce the problem
      Part 2 - Sympathize
      Part 3 - Story Mode
      Part 4 - Summary
Part 5 - Wrap it up

Everyone has a different formula, but that is what has worked best for me.

A good article should always be valuable. I liked Allan Gardyne definition of a good article: "A good article is the one that get people to click on your link".

Building a trust about yourself on the readers mind through the contents of article is very important to achieve real goals.
