Default Getting Indexed In Google

Hi All,

I currently have a system of minisites linked to a main mother site. My first site was created about 4 weeks ago and I've created a dozen minisites since then. They all link to the mother site and vice versa. The problem I'm having is these sites are not getting indexed in Google.

I have links to my mother site from other sites such as hubpages, squidoo and craigslist. A fellow member of the Warrior forum has linked some of his indexed sites to mine as well, but it has not been indexed yet.

I've spoken to a few people and they tell me you can get indexed in a very short amount of time (less than 24 hours), so I was wondering what reasons exist for not getting indexed faster?

This is a seasonal group of sites so I would like to get them indexed as quickly as possible.

Hope this makes sense,

Thanks,
Shane.

Have you done any social bookmarking and created sitemaps for any of them?

I would say your best bet is to keep updating the sites, make sure you are not violating any search engine rules, and just continue to wait. Sometimes new sites take quite a bit of time to get indexed.

Does the 'main mother site' have any juice or PR? Have you done anything that google frowns on ... they may not index sites that fall outside guidelines; once I had this problem and when I discovered it I was indexed within a week.

Do any of the sites have an RSS feed you can submit?

If you daisy chained these sites together and none have any PR it could be a while before you get indexed.

There was or is a WSO for a packet of backlinks that in my opinion is very cheap and some good PR links you may want to consider.

Hadn't thought of that ste25, giving it a go now.

reapr, none of the sites are indexed, but I have links from other indexed sites. Its the first time I've put a system of website together like this so I'm not sure how long it should take to get indexed. As far as I can see, I've followed Google's guidelines.

I have the the WSO you mentioned and created some of these backlinks already. I'll work on the rest of these and see if this helps.

I always submit my sites here, when they are new:

www.aboutus.org/www.domain.com

It might help

It's odd why you're not indexed after 4 weeks. One things I've noticed is Google isn't indexing as much as it used to through links from sites like the ones you mention. The RSS tip is a good one, and I'd submit a sitemap too.
Here's a site to make an xml sitemap online:
Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator

And keep adding links. also make sure your web2.0 pages are indexed by Google.

Shane,

Without getting into too much SEO geek stuff here, I think you may want to look into removing the links from your mother site to the satellite sites.

Having the satellite sites link to your main site is good strategy. Having the main site link to your satellite sites is counter productive. You want to keep that link juice pointed at your main site if you want it to do any good. You are just diluting it if your main site links to those satellites.

There is a lot of info floating around about reciprocal links, and you would do yourself a favor by learning a little bit about link strategy. Google does not seem to favor mini-nets where all the sites are linked together.

Additionally, if they are all on the same server you may want to look into spreading them out across different servers.

A little research on link tactics goes a long way in these situations.

When creating a new site I always submit a story to digg after adding several articles. 90% of the time the site get's indexed in 24 hours.

Stumbleupon is good but not as effective in my oppinion.

Just take action, you have all the tools to succeed!

I have found mini nets can work really well if they are spread out over different ip's.

I also forgot to ask did you throw up all the links at once or did you do it gradually?

I use social marker to bookmark my sites with a couple dozen social bookmarking sites and my pages usually get indexed in less than 24 hours. That's not to say that they get any kind of decent ranking but they do get indexed.

Hi Shane,

There's a few things you can and should do to get indexed very, very quickly. One of the simplest ones is to set up an adwords account ($5) and put an ad up that points to your url.

Google knows about you AND likes you!

I'm going to release a wso on Thurs about getting a page one listing on google in one day with less than one hour of work. Lemme know if I should let you know when it comes out.

Hi reapr, I threw up the links gradually over the last month.

Hi adamv, hadn't heard of social marker before, so I've submitted these sites using it (thanks for the tip).

Mike, I've used adwords for some of these sites but I'll keep an eye out for your WSO, sounds good.

First, all of the above are great ideas. One additional idea to throw into the mix is to "claim" your sites at Technorati. Yes, it is primarily to claim blogs, but it seems to be effective for other sites as well and Technorati has a high relevance factor with Google and provides a link to your "claimed" site.
