Default Brand Your Name Using FavIcons

Hi everyone

probably you know already about favicons, but if you don't I hope you find this post helpful

so what's exactly a Favicon?
it's a tiny little icon that's displayed in your browser next to your website address, here's an example

you can see another example for WF at the top of this page

why would you bother of having a one?
it's cool, stylish and most professional websites have them, it's just an easy way to brand your name

How can you create one?
it's simple and you can create one using Photoshop Or MS Paint, it's all up to you

but you need to follow these simple steps

Step 1:
Create an image of 16 x 16 pixels in size.
Yes, it is so small and you don't have a lot of space to work with..
the easiest way is to add a letter or a number!

Step 2:
Go to this website and upload the image you've created
Free Favicons dot org - Free Favicon Generator (it's NOT my website)

Step 3:
Upload the Favicon.ico file that you were given to your web site root folder

Step 4:
open your main webpage and between your <head> and </head> tags enter the following code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="Favicon.ico">

That's It, hope it was easy
let me know if you have any questions

P.S. There are a lot of softwares to create favicons, you can google them.. I just use the website I mentioned above..

Warm regards
Najat
