You can add a autoresponder opt-in box to any Wordpress theme that supports widgets. Either use a text widget and enter your html code, or there are plug-ins available to do it for you. Search WP Plug-ins to find them.
I presume you are using self hosted Wordpress.

There is no particular theme. It is simply a theme that has sidebars. Then as mentioned above you use the text widget to add your opt-in box.

If you use aweber you can use 'aweber super simple', Imnica just realeased a new plugin for their company, I've also seen them for GetResponse, Mailchimp, and others.

Just do a search within the admin area of your WP blog in the plug-in section.

    Good Luck

You don't really need any plugin for that. The less plugin the better for your site.

Just copy/paste the code (even the JavaScript code) from your autoresponder into a plain text widget in the sidebar. Done.

WHY would anybody need a plugin for a simple copy/paste task???

If you learn just a little bit about HTML, you can edit your sidebar.php. It's really not hard. Or you can also use a widget if your theme is not crappy and didn't work fine.

If you want a plugin WP Responder is one of the best. I used it before and it works, plus it's free too.
You can find it here WP Responder - Email Newsletter and Follow Up Autoresponder Plugin For Wordpress

....Or 'Opt-in Form Generator' plug in from Maxblogpress. Free of charge it lets you customise the look of the form to suit your blog and enables you to easily insert the form into posts or as a sidebar widget

A plug-in is not really required for adding opt-in form to the sidebar as it is quite a simple copy and paste task. However some opt-in form plug-ins do allow you to manage your forms on the admin dashboard. Say you have forms manually inserted on your wordpress pages, it'd be a pain to have to manually edit them if you want to change the look of the forms. Whereas some plug-ins allow you to update the form in one place, and the changes will show up automatically on all pages where the form is inserted.

Since my AR provider allows me to edit the look etc. of the form at "source", i.e. on their site - I still don't need a plugin for that.

(yes, I am anti-plugin for simple jobs that can be done without them!)
