Made my first dollar!! Plus my newbie question of the day

I think he knows the directories, but is asking for a free programme that submits his articles to article directories for him.

Really, i haven't been searching around for that but i doubt there'll be such a great deal. Do it yourself manually, or you have to pay for it.

thanks for the replies I'll check out the bookmarking tools mentioned. It looks like I've gotten over the initial Hubpages traffic bump and things have died down considerably. So i'm working now on typing up a new hub as we speak.

It really depends on what your goals are with this. Are you building a business or are you just trying to make a few extra dollars?

If you're goal is to have an online business that's consistently producing great results, here are some things (that I learned the hard way) that will serve you well if you consider -

Making money online is not a business. Selling advice for guitar players, for example, is. Online marketing is the vehicle that you use to run your business. Pick something that you have expertise in or that you have a passion to gain expertise in and go to work on building a business around that and only that.

Then, after that business is up and running, if you so choose, venture into something else that interests you.

If you try and sell things you aren't familiar with, and you don't know how to do effective market research in order to get a real sense of your target market so that you can connect with them and build a certain level of repore, you're dead in the water.

That being said, let's say that music/playing the guitar is your passion. (I've been to your website so I know that it must be. I play the acoustic so it's a passion of mine, too). You're an expert in that field already. You may not know more than everyone else on the planet but you certainly know more than the vast majority of people looking for advice in that area.

Learn how to package that expertise up and sell it to would be seekers of such advice. (create your own products)

It takes a little time but it's much easier than you think once you learn the ropes and, income-wise, you will absolutely crush anything you could hope for messing around with Amazon. Not that there's anything wrong with promoting Amazon products. You made your first dollar in a week. It took me 6 months.

Study marketing. Learn exactly why people make the decision to buy and what triggers such a decision. Learn all about how you can position yourself in such a way that people know, like and trust you and see you as the expert in your given field. Learn who your target market is. Who's buying the products you want to sell and why are they buying?

Learn business. What makes a business successful and why do most fail? How can you build yours so that it's still around in five years and growing.

These things are a must if you want great results.

Congratulations! Hubpages seems to be doing pretty well lately in rankings.

I use this free bookmarking tool a lot - IMAutomator They have a paid version, but the free version allows you to submit 10 links a day.

After that, article backlinks are another great free way to increase your rankings. You can also link your hubs on similar topics together to increase their rankings.
