Can what I read here help a non IM website?

Hello

I have been a luker for a while, and thought I would post a question.

Do the techniques described on the Warrior Forum work in selling non-internet marketing based products?

My wifes friend owns Darling Charms and I am we are helping her get stated online. We have directed her to start optimizing her website for SEO and she is know writing some articles on charm bracelets to post to various article websites. I think her next step is creating some backlinks, and optimizing her website with more content.

Am I wasting my time reading the techniques covered in this forum for her website, or are their specific WSO's or other programs that she should look at purchasing to help her get traffic to her website? The reason I ask is that much of the content seems to be Internet Marketers selling to Internet Marketers.

I would appreciate any and all recommendations!

Mark

Ps. Wife has an education product she is developing, so we are helping her friend in hopes we will be ready when she launches.

The techniques here definitely work for non IM related sites. I don't think any of my sites could really be desicribed as IM related, and all use techniques from here.

Yes. Just be careful about what advice you follow. As you mentioned, there are a lot of Internet marketers selling to Internet marketers, so advice for selling those types of products to such a specific niche may not necessarily be applicable to selling charms online.

For example, it will probably be of little use to run a WSO for charms.

On the other hand, SEO, marketing methods and other information can be applicable to your niche. Be ware, however, that there can be differences in marketing physical products versus digital products, as each has specific hurdles that must be overcome.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

    Hi Mark,
    Welcome to the WF.

Whether you are selling basket weaving kits, pet products, jewlery, or pool tables, what you can learn here will help you understand how marketing online works.

I and a cohort sell info products that have nothing to do with IM at all. In fact I have never even mentioned them here. What I learned here taught me how to do that.

I and the same cohort teach monthly marketing workshops here at my office. We fill a large room with local small business owners, and help them work through their marketing problems. What I have learned here about using the Web to sell, has been invaluable.

Not everyone here is strictly selling to the IM crowd.

yeh IM its hard to know who really wants to help you....so this forum is a great place to start......I would ask more than 1 person for advice.....ask a bunch of people...if you get the same advice from a group of people then thats the advice I would follow....at least you know they are not just trying to market to you....

Hey Mark, welcome, glad you joined the forums.

You're right, most techniques work in other niches. In fact, most of us use these techniques to profit from other niches.

If you have more questions, more in depth, shoot at will.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Some things are universal so they'll work on any site, but some things are more specific to certain niches...IM or Info product selling.

I have an e-commerce site. And things I utilize that are popular in IM are list building (free giveaway), upsells, compelling copywriting on product pages, SEO, Email Marketing, etc. I can honestly say those things are the differences between an OK business and a great business.

There are some suggestions that are specific to IM/Info businesses. There was a post the other day that basically said you can build a huge business by free product-pay shipping, upsell, building list, phone sales to high end coaching. Obviously, that won't work on a website where you're selling light fixtures.
