I have a report - How can I sell it?

Hey guys,

I have a report that I wrote about 2 years ago regarding getting resolution for bad customer experiences. It's been sitting in my Google Docs account for a while, collecting Cyber Dust.

I need it to be read/edited for grammar and possibly some spelling, and, then, of course, I would like to generate some income from it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for it?

I had thought of creating a website directly for it, and posting on some forums about my report, but, I figure that may take more effort than I have time for at this juncture.

I would like to find some affiliates to sell it, but, I have never really worked with that model before. Do they do the promotion for it?

My report is roughly 8 pages - but, it's methods could be used for many products or services. It has a few stories in there, and, I could generate some testimonials.

What do you think is a good price? I'd like to price it $9-$14, and, based on that, what is a good commission to offer on it?

Where could I get it edited?

Jeremy

  • It doesn't sound like it may have much value as a product to be sold, but it deffinately sounds like you could add to a squeeze page to gain obtins by giving it away or better still finish the product off, add your own links and then just give it away.

    Hi Jeremy,

A couple things to think about. First, it would be very, very difficult to get many affiliates to promote a $10 product. If you gave a 50 or even a 70 percent commission, affiliates just wouldn't make enough to justify promoting it. There are a gazillion products out there to promote so most affiliates would look for something where they could make more per sale than 5-6 dollars. Just a fact of life.

I'm sure it's a good report, but I might consider using it as a giveaway thing. If you wrote some articles on the topic and submitted them to directories, you could use your resource box to direct readers of your article to a squeeze page (opt-in page) where they would give up their name and address in exchange for downloading your report.

If you can build a list and then promote more expensive products related to your topic to that list, you might make some money.

Just a tip, and I'm telling you this as a friend not a critic, but think of doing things in reverse. Before you write a report or develop a product, figure out how you will market it. Where will you get traffic? How will you promote it? Where are the hungry buyers for your product at and how can you reach them?

Only after you have answered those questions would I proceed to actually create the product. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck with your project. --Mike

    Thanks.

If I did give it away, I wonder what products I could promote to for that list?

Having not read the report, I could only guess...

But I would have to say any software/service that would help with resolving/escalating a customer service complaint.

      i.e.
      Legal Documents (legalzoom)
      pre-written complaint letters (maybe?)
Legal Consultations (I am sure that there are law firms that will pay for customer lists)
