Facebook Advertising Question

I've read everywhere that Facebook is great for ppc advertising but I have no experience with facebook at all.

Here's my question: assuming I want to advertise with Facebook PPC, do I first need to set up a page/account, if so, do i need to use my own name or can i use the name i use on my website. I ask, as the credit card details will be in my name.

I'd also be interested in any guides that might be availible on advertising PPC with facebook, recommendations please if you have any.
Cheers
Mark

Yes, you will need to set up a Facebook account. Facebook also pushes you to set up a page for you business on Facebook to use in your PPC campaign. However, unless you are a Fortune 5000 company, you will get better results with a direct link to your landing page on your on domain name.

The power in Facebook is in targeting. If your product does not focus around a specific demographic, then you will not see dramatic results.

So that's an account, but I don't need a page, Is that right?.
So can I use my websites alias or does it have to be my name (due to the credit card?

I've not paid much attention to this aspect of the end result ad, but if I'm not mistaken... no one can tell who, (meaning personal details), the advertiser is unless the advertiser explicitly states their identity in the ad itself.

Technically it's against Facebook's TOS to create more than one account. So I'd say yes you probably have to use a personal account, unless your only account is a business one.

Simply send questions to Facebook support. They are good at answering questions directed at them. Send your questions to the sales and marketing section.
