FaceBook Advertising :: Abstract Approach?
But, I think its a good idea so why not share it with the WF, right? I might not be the first to think about this, but I've not seen anyone mention it, so...
Anyway, one of the things I love about FB advertising is the ability they give you to target. IMHO, that's really the quintessential point where FB kills Google PPC; (but, that's a whole different argument I'm not willing to get into lol).
Yet, what I've seen most do... and I'm guilty of this myself.. is approach this targeting from the front-end.
- I have a product
- I figure out who the demographic is
- I associate some keywords with it
- I hit FB's ad wizard and start popping in those KWs
- NEW - FB even gives me KW suggestions
- I build my campaign and run it
This has worked out very well for me and I'm sure others, as well.
BUT, what if you don't have a product? What do you do? Do you just forget about advertising on one of the most beautiful PPC engines on the net? I say NO...
Just reverse the process...
The nice thing about the FB ad wizard is that they allow you to play with it. So you can go in and find yourself a niche; (even an under served one); and possibly find a gold mine.
- open your browser
- open one tab at Quantcast.com
- open another tab at OfferVault.com
- open another tab for the FB ad wizard
- start mining for gold in the FB ad wizard
- match up against Quantcast & OfferVault
- either use OfferVault to find a CPA ad to push
- if you're not in (or can't get in) a CPA network.. search ClickBank
- match up a product/offer with your new found gold mine
- build your FB campaign and push it
Of course, I over simplified the entire process... but I'm sure you get my drift.
IMHO, I think that time spent well can yield some very interesting and profitable results.
