Most email services that handle large lists like this are notorious for not getting the mail through. I would suggest using any of the hundred or so companies in the constant contact space, and break up the list into bite sized chunks. Send an email that is designed to get opens. Then dump all of the non-opens. This will get your list down to the 10s of thousands, and you will be able to use email services that are white listed.

AWeber hands down. They have no competition. The best deliver rate in the industry.

Getresponse would be my choice for emailing often and to lots of people. Research rates and they might be your best bet for that large.

For a list as large as that, established services like Getresponse and Aweber would work best, in my opinion. It's going to be pretty pricey for a list that large, but it'd be totally worth it for the peace of mind and high deliverability rates associated with these companies.

It mainly depends on how you got your list. If you purchased those leads you will have a difficult time getting any company to let you import them. If they are opt-in leads it will still be hard to find a company to work with you.

I just dealt with this. I have a separate optin list that I acquired through a personal contact that was all double opt-in and real leads. I know the guy, and know this is the real deal. The problem is Constant Contact won't work with people in the home business niche market (at least their sales person shut down my account and refunded me on the spot when I told him I am in the Internet marketing niche).

I looked at iContact, but they only let you send 6 emails per month to your list for their base package which gets expensive. GetResponse wants links to where they opted in, IP address from when they opted in, and the exact date they opted into your list. They still have to review it. Campaigner is another bulk email service, but goes through the same review process.

InfusionSoft is pricey, but they do let you import leads and seem the easiest to work with.

Aweber is awesome, but they will want to know how they opted in. Plus each person needs to confirm in order for you to email them. So you may get only 30% or so that will click the link depending on the list with Aweber. Deliverability is great with them!

Now for a solution. The best option I found was to buy a license to AutoresponsePlus and host it on my own server. You need a dedicated server for this. Normal HostGator or shared hosting will NOT work for this as they set restrictions.

      1. Ask your host for a unique IP address

      2. Ask them to install all of the following on it:

      (a) Reverse DNS
      (b) SPF record
      (c) Domain Keys authentication

      ...to maximize delivery.

      3. Regularly check that your domain and/or its IP address are not
blacklisted. The tool we use for this is:

MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox

You can get your own dedicated server through HostGator, SoftLayer, Layered Technology, etc. Most will be willing to work with you.

The catch with this option is deliverability can suffer and be difficult at times. Another company that specializes in bulk email sending his HitDirector. They helped me get off spam list for Comcast and such and my deliverability is improving.

The best thing is email the list once you get it setup and send them to your squeeze page and get responsive ones onto Aweber which has awesome delivery rates. Hope this helps and good luck!

I just wasted about a month of time trying to find a solution for this problem! Everyone in the email world assumes spammer. InfusionSoft seemed to be the only one that didn't want to categorize me first as a spammer. I may end up with them eventually for now the dedicated hosting seems to be working well.

If you're looking at a list size of 1 million+, NO service that you pick is going to be cheap simply because of the logistics involved. You could probably cut corners and do something cheaper with someone else, but do you know for sure if your emails are going to get delivered reliably? Do you know if your provider knows how to avoid getting blacklisted with such a huge list, and be in complete compliance with CAN-Spam regulations so that you don't get shut down?

You need to look into larger companies for a large list of say 500K instead of aweber/getresponse as they are more for smaller lists and can't handle suppression file imports. That is a major concern if you are dropping mailings for others and they can't handle suppression file imports.

Aweber is great, but I pay close to $300 for a list under 50,000.

I can't imagine what it would cost for a list as large as you have.

Aweber is great, but once you start getting up there in list numbers you will pay. You can easily pay over $1K a month for a list of over 100,000.
