After 6 years, I have finally received my first Amazon cheque!

After trying for 6 years, I have finally received my first cheque from Amazon. Right now, I am so overcome with emotion that I could collapse at any moment. But before I do, I would like to thank the following

- My hamster, for allowing me to use her as my massage ball and hand warmer.
- KFC, for providing me with breafkast and a workplace for many mornings.
- Starbucks, for allowing me to keep awake and also for working there.
- McDonald's and Burger King, so I can have lunch and midnight snack.
- Lenovo, for making my X301 laptop
- PCCW, for providing my with my mobile broadband connection
- Hutchitson, for providing my home Internet access and local Wifi access
- CLP, my electricity supplier, who makes it possible to run my computer.
- CNN and BBC, for allowing me to keep up with the news and outside world.
- My RC helicopters, so I have a hobby to take my mind off things from time to time.
- My bicycle, so that I can keep in shape from time to time.
- Honda, for making my car so I can fly my RC helicopters and take me to the bicycle lanes where I can ride my bicycle.
- ESSO, for providing petrol to my car
- The management of my appartment, for taking care of my appartment building.
- The schools where my daughters go to, for taking them of my hands during the day.
- My nanny, for taking care of my daughters at home.
- My wife, for looking after everything else.
- And of course to all of you at the Warrior Forum.

I never thought I would see this day! I am just so overcome at the moment that I have started hearing voices and seeing things in my head. I better go now before I faint!

      Well done!

It took me 2 years to earn anything online. It's taken you six but you never gave up.. With that sort of refusal to give up I can only assume and hope you now realise the formula that made that sale, ramp it up and keep going.

I'm extremely pleased for you and wish you all the best.

Congrats, it also took me a long time to make my first sale online too.

From now on, each further sale should be easier

      REAL important point there

Reminds me of an old commercial, perhaps someone remembers the football players name

"Do you know blah blah was tackled more times than anyone else in NFL history?""

"Because just he kept getting back up"

      Congrads again

Thanks everybody for your kind and encouraging words. Judging by the fact that I have only earned $4 so far this month, it could be another 6 years before I receive another cheque! I am grateful that I don't have to rely on it or else I would be in serious trouble since I have been working fulltime online for 5 years.

More seriously though, it was a concerted attempt to make money with Amazon. I had a dormant account that I didn't know what to do with it. I heard stories about the low commssion rates and also low success rates. Then I read this thread on the WK concerning Amazon and decided to have a real try. I was particularly interested in trying out API as my affiliate sites were mainly based on datafeeds.

I bought a API script called "Affiliate Bang" for $77 and installed it on 10 sites in June. Most of the money was earned in August when I earnt $152 then but dropped off quickly. I suspect that I was calling too many products with the installed scripts so that tens of thousands of pages were suddenly detected by the spam filters of Google. It is possible those domains had been penalized and I am not sure whether I will install this script on additional sites. So it was a pretty disspointing result considering the tiime I spent on research. But anyway, this is how business goes and I will just have to try some other methods.

My experience has been that producing your own reviews and additional content to start a site keeps you in googles good books, then I will add around 30% of copy and pasted reviews from amazon, no script.

Keep that kind of balance, 70% original and 30% copied, works for me anyway and I get good rankings like this.

It just takes longer to get started because you are doing most of the work yourself but once you reach a few hundred in profits it becomes easy to start on the next site by outsourcing using your profits, then its just like a snowball if you re-invest profits to grow your niches fast.

Hmm LOL, Well at least you got something from that even if it was 6 years. Also it isn't that bad considering you barely put any effort into it. Basically 1k on auto pilot? Now time to wait another 5? LOL

      Anyways Congrats

    Wow that's perseverance!

I've been dedicating my time to Amazon review sites recently and I have to say that since ditching the Amazon auto-blogs and spending my time writing actual reviews that add value for the reader I've tripled my commissions.
