Wordpress questions please...

Hi, Im learning affiliate marketing and some input. Im going to start a general review site. Using a generic domain name like reviews......com. I need a sound strategy. I then would locate aff. products to promote and use seperate sub directories from my main page, ie... reviews.com/tiresreview.... for several different product reviews. I think it would be easier to manage, built links to etc... Also when i try to sign up for aff. programs like amazon they all want me to tell them my domain name (URL) before accepting me. Is it easy to make separate sub dir. pages using a wordpress blog? Also when building links, is it most important to build them for each individual product page or the main domain page? Thanks, i know this seems basic to most of yall but i have read lots here and have not found these answers yet.

    Hi Booster,

I just happened to review a great Free video course that would give you the run down on exactly what you mentioned in your post.

    Check it out here:

I know the link says it's all about Clickbank, but it goes far beyond that.

Is it easy to make separate sub dir. pages using a wordpress blog?
    Yes, it's very easy.

You click the "Add New" button under Pages, type a headline and text for your page, then click Update.

Wordpress will automatically create the url from the headline you typed in, but you can also change the subdirectory name permalink (permanent link) URL yourself.

If you visit Wordpress.org, you can see it in action. Click "Showcase" in the top menu then look at the URL on the new page. That's how pages in Wordpress work.

Also when building links, is it most important to build them for each individual product page or the main domain page?
There's no quick and easy answer for this. SEO is a really complex subject and there are a lot of contradictory opinions out there.

There are some really smart people out there who can make some educated guesses about how the search engines work, but the truth is that the search engines are evolving on a regular basis and they're never going to tell us exactly how they do what they do. They don't want people to game their system.

The most important concept to understand is that the search engines are assigning values to specific pages on a website, not the website itself.

For this reason, I personally believe it's important to build backlinks to relevant content on relevant pages using relevant link text. Yes, I said "relevant" three times because I believe it's that important.

In other words, if the search engine finds your link anchor text "top racing tires", it should lead to a page that talks about "top racing tires".

    Hi,

Before you start with your review site, make sure you research your market first. Every big niche has sub niche and trust me...not all sub niches sell good. So do your market research first and see how big it is. No point building a review site, if you have no customers. This is why many affiliates fail. They start promoting without any research.

With page you mean actual page or blog post?

You can do both, build backlinks for your domain and blog posts. If your domain is about reviews, then your backlinks needs to be with keyword "review" for example. Highly relevant. If you blog post is about electrical heaters, you build backlinks to your blog post using same keyword.
