Where Can I Find People Who Need Articles Written?

A few warriors have told me that it's always good to ask questions, so here goes. As you can see by the thread title, I'm looking for people who need articles written. I know that I can post a WSO or a Classifieds, but besides here where can I find people needing articles written? Additionally, how do I find people that need articles written here without posting either of those?

Another thing, if someone could please explain WHY I would or should post my article writing service as a WSO, it would be appreciated. My understanding of WSOs is that they are supposed to be EXCLUSIVE offers for Warriors. My article writing services don't vary from one person to the next, so that seems inappropriate. Does anyone else agree with that statement?

I know there's Digital Point, so please don't mention them. I'm not sure what's the deal with people there, but they want high quality, and sometimes lengthy articles for pennies.

So, any good places where I can find some writing work? Give as much detail as you can, please.

By posting a WSO it would be to offer warriors a lower price (special offer) that you wouldn't normally offer to your other customers. It doesn't mean that you offer your services ONLY to warriors.

I understand that, but I just wanted someone to reiterate it. A fellow warrior suggested that I posted my article writing services as a WSO, but it wouldn't be a special offer, just my regular services. That was my point. A WSO doesn't suit me here...

You can offer an exclusive offer to Warriors by giving them special prices or an article writing bundle that you don't offer anywhere else for instance.

People generally would like to see some examples of ones you've already written as well.

People have made good income and reputation from writing for people on the WF, so it's a great place to start.

You can see the requirements in some of the freelancing sites like elance.com, rentacoder.com apart from warrior forums. I think you can make money online just by writing articles...

In that case, I agree it wouldn't suit you.

However, if you offered a bundle, like Tim says, it gives you the chance to show some samples and get some testimonials.

The first place I always look for article writers is in the WSO section or the section with warriors for hire and I generally pay around $5-$6 an article as I have seen what they do and they have come highly recommended.

Otherwise, have you done a google search?

Yes, I've done a google search, but nearly everything that I can find requires you to bid, submit a portfolio, and so on.

I'm not comfortable with giving samples and such because people will use you for free content and that's wrong. It's happened before, and what's really sad is that I see it happen to other people all too often.

As far as showing a portfolio, I'd have to get permission from previous clients before showcasing my work. I don't do articles for one person and then reuse them later. All of my clients receive exclusive rights to the articles they get from me, so it would be their decision to allow me to include anything.

And on top of that, with the bidding sites and such, it takes a few days to secure a project, which is not good, IMO. What I'm searching for is a way to find work now.

You already write articles. Well, write articles and submit them to directories that promote the use of article services to free up their time to make money. Of course, you will have a link in your resource box to your service.

And of course you can always point people to your articles on the article directories to show them your work. That way they can't plagiarize it (at least that's the theory).

But.... you probably only need to offer 2 or 3 really good articles as a starter to get people intersted in your services, so why not just write a few articles for yourself about different topics that you can the point people to and put them up on your own website.

You can also start blogging about article writing. Tips would go over great. I wouldn't worry about giving away free information. It will still get you a lot of customers who just don't have the time to do it themselves. Have some of your articles point to your blog where they can sign up for free tips.

You can write a small report about article writing with links to your service. Sell it and give affiliates 100% commissions. Give it away or just let others sell it with resell rights/master resell rights.

I forgot to mention. A lot of people write articles that they give PLR. You can create a pack of articles and offer warriors a good discount. Sell them in limited quantities and that may get you some repeat business.

You can also sell them on your new blog in the post I created above.


The stuff I am saying isn't anything new. It is all in this forum.

Do you have a list of existing clients that you've done work for in the past?

I would remind them that I can still write for them and even ask for referrals. Give them a slight discount on further writing services if they send referrals your way.

Start with what you have. It's always easier to use what client base you already have than getting new customers.

I don't agree with that statement at all.

Warrior Special Offers are offers for this forum only that you don't offer to anyone else, even if just for a limited time.

And I think that by being as rigid as you are that you're missing a very valuable opportunity by NOT posting a WSO. I have been able to make several profitable relationships with some of the top Warriors on this board with my writing services and these relationships have also extended into other opportunities as well.

A WSO can be the springboard to a lot more than just writing articles or just writing for someone else. I think that you're being a bit close-minded about it. Be open minded. Give it a try, see how it works for you. If you don't like it, don't do it again. Try building relationships.

Want an example of an article writing WSO gone REALLY good? Just ask Brian McElroy. That's basically how he started and now he's got everyone and their brother emailing their lists about Overnight Product Creation.

Not to burst your bubble, but so will some Warriors here. Some interpret a WSO to be your best work for dirt cheap. On the other hand, some will buy you WSO to see how good you are and seriously consider you for higher paying writing projects.

If you decide to do a WSO, make the guidelines clear up front. You can still charge your regular rate for an article, but you'll need to add benefits to that regular rate (more articles, article submission to 10 article directories, etc.). Set your WSO guidelines and stick to them. Be clear what the word count will be for the price and stick to that.

So, any good places where I can find some writing work? Give as much detail as you can, please.

Good advice here. Generally what I've found in searching (haven't actually used a service, as I like to write) is that you can have articles written for @ five bucks. It might be hard to sell your services--especially without samples--for more. Your quality might be much better, but without samples, your potential customers won't know that. Don't be afraid to be generous, for particularly online, it is one of the keys to credibility.

As an article writer who currently has a WSO running, I can tell you that it's just a matter of offering a better deal than usual. I have regular rates that I charge per article, and then special WSO rates. It's no different from any other product or service --you are offering a better than usual price.

One other good spot is the forum at digital point. You will find a lot of other writers there though that charge much less. I charge over $20 per article when I write, but I also have a track record and reputation at Ezine Articles to help back it up.

You will probably have a difficult time finding a lot of people who will pay the price, but if you write very targeted articles with the appropriate keyword density you may be able to find a handful of clients who will keep you busy.

I offered a WSO as a way to "get my name out there" and develop a client list.

While it is true that you get less per article that way, it is a great way (IMHO) to build a client list.

You can always look for posts by people who need content written and then contact them via PM and volunteer your services.

Personally, I'd recommend posting in the Warriors for Hire section of the forum. My own ad there has gotten me a lot of work, and it appears that the other writers with threads up and running are thriving quite well too.

As for samples, well the route I went is twofold:

1. Using my own website to post samples that people could read if they like (sure they might steal it... but they're welcome to do so).

2. Submitting articles I'd written to ezinesarticles.com and then using links to them as samples (I did this before I had a website, and it worked just as well).

I write articles for others, and I always submit samples. I simply put a copyright statement ahead of the samples. Most people are not looking to steal your work, and those who are serious about getting articles written for them want to know that they won't be wasting their money. You build clientele by consistently providing quality and reliability, and by taking feedback and critiques seriously. Just keep putting your name out there and you should start seeing results.

I did see your post, but my question specifically asked for "forums." No one has given me any other forums to check into for article writing, and that is something that I'm interested in.

I gave you a forum in this post. BUT, as I said, they have more lower end pricing writers there. You are going to need to find an end user to support your prices, meaning find a handful of companies that will pay you what you want.
