How would you Promote your Product if you have $500

1) Say, you have a product in the IM/Affiliate Marketing niche. (sold via Clickbank)
2) You just launched the product and its a subscription based product
3) You have very little contacts in the IM World and your email list contains 45 unresponsive people.
4) You have $500 (Max.) with you which you can spend for promotion

My question is :
1) Where would you spend your money?
2) Which page would you promote - Your Affiliates Page, or your Product's Sales Page
3) You need INSTANT results (in 5-7 days).

My opinion? You probably shouldn't have started a membership based site with only one months content if you weren't capable of creating further content for future months.

I know that doesn't really help but ANY opinion you get from here about how to spend your money to make it back that quickly will probably fail - simply because you don't have the required experience and knowledge.

My advice (and it's a BAD piece so DON'T follow it)...

    $500 on red.

Go back to the start and start more slowly.

Well, say you have the next month's content as well.
To be precise, you have more than enough resources to build the next entire year's content ...
    Now suggest ...

Sorry, but I have to agree with Matt. You don't have a viable promotion. Save your money and continue building your product or investigate other ideas. To get to where you are shows some ambition and skill so don't be discouraged. But you need further development.

Your last update went up while I was writing my first reply so I didn't see it. If you're that confident about your product and resources your best bet is a joint venture with someone owing a big list and/or the name or experience to get your product out in front of the right people.

I really think you need to JV with this. You have resources right here in the WF.

The only other truly fast way I can think of is PPC/Adwords. But with IM being so competitive your $500 will go fast.

I find that Google Adwords is very expensive, profitable but expensive. If someone wanted to do PPC and is just starting off I'd tell them to look at Yahoo Search Marketing. I've had very good luck with them, actually a much better ROI with Yahoo for me vs Google. I'm not sure what others have found though.

    Read my post below Matts'...
Product is fully developed, and I have already put in a lot of time and resources for it..
So, there is no sense in starting from scratch and doing 'further product development'

Absolutely correct, David. I had finished up $100 yesterday on Adwords yielding just 120 clicks. So, PPC is worthless..

I was going through some inexpensive traffic sources like :adengage, and adtoll ... But, I'm unsure whether or not to invest money there.

I have spent about 2 weeks trying to find a joint venture, but only 5-6 small list owners responded. I have tried the JV Forums, Facebook, and WF. But, all big players don't show any interest if you're a new guy in the block.. So, I'm Blank..

Could you recommend me to any big players you might know. I'd love to interact with them

It's a tough spot to be in, I know. Hard to impress others if you're not part of the "club" but I don't the real big names would be the right choice either.

Let's face it, it's gonna be hard. I tried the JV section once myself without any luck. Fortunately, I had the time to do it slowly on my own and now I'm glad I didn't get into a JV.

Maybe personal contact if the way to go. Your post on a Sunday and in the "off hours" for US members is not going to get a lot of views.

Are there any warriors who have impressed you or that you've engaged with in the forum? Even if they don't know you I would PM a few to ask for advice. See if you can find any others with a subscription service and find out what worked for them. Most people respond well to this type of request, even if it's unsolicited (just make it a request for advice, not a promotion).

All it takes is for one person to know another who might be interested and it may lead somewhere. Also I would post a similar thread to this later when the American members come online and get a fresh batch of viewers.

Sorry, but I really can't think of much else. Good luck!

I have already PM'd a few people in the forum and there hasn't been much response. Thanks for the advise though, David.

@ Radhika: I am looking to create a WSO soon. I hope that works. I have heard that many WSO's don't even get noticed.. Let's hope mine does

Why not try capture some new list of people and then sending your email follow up and see how they response to your product. Check the CTR and the conversion rate. Use free services first. When you got good number only then you go for the paid services.

      JVs su*ks big time!

To make sales with in 5 - 7 days:

      * You need targeted audience
      * Your product is needed by people
      * Irrestible offer

Where can you get those? PPCs.

Another is try posting a WSO.

Well, sending out a broadcast IS the idea, but there isn't much time for me to first create a squeeze page, then bring visitors to it, then they subscribe, then I tell them about the site, and then I measure the CTR and conversion rates.
I don't have a problem with spending money IF I get some quality output..

The best seems to be to recruit list-owners and affiliates. But, I'm able to get there...

Adwords is a waste of time.

Launch it as a WSO to test the market / your sales copy. If it's shit, and you get little / no sales, rewrite one or the other.

IF the WSO does well keep around $40 to bump it every so often and spend the rest on advertising on half decent SEO'd blogs in the IM niche.

Yes, I've written solo ads to ezine and they provide results in less than a week. I've used this method to sell hundreds of my small reports. My best week sold 347 copies of a $17 report.

It's way cheaper and more effective than PPC and it doesn't take as a long as article marketing to get results.

What kind of product? Not what niche or market, what kind of product? Does it solve a problem that people are actually having? How did you find out they were having said problem?

If you know where they were discussing the problem (possibly how you found the problem in the first place) then you already know where to focus, at the very least, the beginning of your marketing campaign. What methods of advertising can you do, online or offline (depending where you discovered the people having the problem)? Use them!

Say you found the problem on the Warrior Forum... a good start is putting the link in your signature with enticing anchor text. Later on, if people purchase it via your signature (track it!), create a WSO. If people don't purchase it but you're getting traffic from your signature, tweak the copy until you do make sales.

Maybe you found people having the problem on Digitalpoint's forum - again, start with the signature and participate in the community. Then look around... looks like they monetize using Adsense - do PPC via Google Adwords using the content network and target Digitalpoint's forum.

Best of luck and remember to plan this in the future!

For short-term results like you want, I think ppc is your best bet. But you can also try video marketing.
