Making a Site Template

Hello,

I am in the process of trying to copy the site I am using and turning it into a template to copy for my other sites.

I am using cPanel....does anyone have any tips or instructions on how to bet complete this task?

Thanks so much!

Fred

I don't think you will get any useful answers unless you give more details.

What kind of site are we talking about? HTML or some kind of CMS?

A "template" shouldn't be based on a whole site... maybe just one page (= 1 html file; 1 CSS file - if any -; image files or placeholder images)

With HTML sites it wil be very easy to cope one and duplicate. If you are using any CMS like Joomla and Wordpress, you'll need to transfer the theme for your new sites.

No, there is no advice, sorry.

Since we don't know whether the html part (which would be the real template) is in one single html file (+css+images) or is scattered around in many different php files (as is the case of a WP theme).

No, there is NO general rule/method that can be applied.

If you know HTML, then you can look at the code in your files and figure out which code snippets are part of the general layout/design.

If you don't know enough HTML to do it - outsource.
