Need to get a video high on youtube - Blogging

And I am going to use blogging techniques with back linking. I have one golden important question really. Can I use Free blogs such as blogger.com and wordpress.com Or should I buy a domain and hosting for it? I am not sure would it be worth it?

    I think you should choose free blogs initially and check if you get some success from them. If you find that you are able to generate a good amount of traffic through them, you can create your own blog by purchasing a domain and hosting.

    Test with free and go from there. If you find that video works well for you, you can always do a redirect later.
