Affiliate, Super Affiliate, Product Owner

i've been trying to figure out this internet marketing thing.

deciphering on affilate marketing or focusing on product owner.

"money's in the list" - affiliate marketing

"continuous affiliate sales" - product owner

i guess i tend to get greedy when i see the gravity score of some products on clickbank. given, they've worked hard on sales copy, product creation, jv, and reaching out to affiliates. this kind of automated cashflow is something i would like to achieve. and it's a good feeling to have people promote your products - you're the source.

for affiliate marketing, i think the key components would be having a great SIG, awesome opt-in copy, great consistent email copy, and finding the right products to promote. competitive yes?

i have finished my product on clickbank - get a man | keep my man | get men | how to get a boyfriend |.

after being clearly explained that my copy sucks in the copywriting forum, i'm a big discouraged.

i'm working hard to find affiliates - forum and article marketing. trying to contact list owners...

kind of doubting my product due to my sales copywriting.

anybody out there who can offer a suggestion?
what do you suggest i do?

overwhelmed...

lennox

    a) Why are you linking to your site 3 times with 3 different anchor text. Pick 1 and stick with it if SEO means anything to you.

    b) You already gave us the answer, if your copy does suck, fix it. Improve your product.

    c) youtube user 'creamitnow', yeah... that sends a great impression to anybody who catches that.

    d) I'd take a look at some of the other successful PUA/dating sites and steal their good ideas.

    e) Your site took forever to load and I didn't see a clear call to action. It was just a long long long long page.

    f) I need Stephanie's digits. Pronto!

i will fix the sales page and model off other successful pages.
probably take off the graphics. page does take a while to load.

    You're new.

Of course you don't know what you're doing.

Of course you are going to screw it up.

And all the people "discouraging" you on this forum are really just trying to find all the things you've screwed up and tell you about them as quickly as possible, so you can get started fixing them.

Now, that said, let me reassure you a little.

Every single person here started out with sites, products, and business models that sucked.

There is not a single person that got it right on the first try from day one.

And the one thing they all have in common is that when they found out they had it wrong... they fixed it.

Do not throw away your site and start over. Fix what you've got. It's the only way you'll learn the difference between quality and crap.

Knowing the copywriters here as I do, you've got a list of action items. Go get started.

in this post you link to your site in the body and twice in your signature, each time using a different anchor text. Pick you're desired keyword and always use it when you link to your site.

Here are two sites from Eban Pagan/David DeAngelo/Christian Carter. It's a successful program and they guy knows how to sell. Christian Carter's Catch Him and Keep Him: Dating Advice for Women and Official Double Your Dating | David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating

Those sites should spark some ideas. Both are nearly identical and I'm assuming the guy has done his research and split testing and there is a reason why those sites are they way they are. Notice, they are not typical sales pages and they hype is kept to a minimum.

The big push it to get visitors on his list to further harass with exciting can't miss offers.

You've taken action, which in and of itself elevates you above 95% of people. Congratulations.

Now you just need to sit down and write up a list of all the things you can do to improve your copy. Prioritize that list based on which changes stand to make the biggest impact on conversion and stick rate, then work your way down the list from, starting with those items of greatest impact.
