What about the exit pop up that asks for the email when they try to leave? Is there a plugin or a script I can use?

Most exit scripts won't ask for it in that way but then give options as to what the visitor sees, so you can opt to show them an optin page or a chat window for example.

ExitSplash is a good one. So is Virtual Smart Agent, if you'd like a chat agent that the customer can interact with.

A lot of ClickBank products use ExitSplash for exit-on-popup functionality.

It sounds like what you are looking for is provided by Popup Domination, though. It's a WordPress plugin that I use on some of my sites, and can display an opt-in box when people are leaving (or when they get to the page, it's configurable).

I am not associated with either product, but I have bought and used both of them.

It sounds like you are trying to use an exit popup for list building. Most of the paid popups do offer the option to include an opt-in form. I have found some of them very inexpensively on sites like tradebits
