Hey guys and girls,

I am a local vancouver trainer and i need to get my site up in google for 5 key words and get more leads in there. I have been online marketing for a while but i still dont know exactly how i can do this.

I m wondering if you know what course do i need to study or where can i learn about this?

I am also interested in learning about this so i can help other local businesses and have a part time source of income from this,

Im sure there are alot of you doing this, can you please point me to the right direction?

How can i learn what steps to take

Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge

The easiest thing to increase foot traffic may be to improve your google places (local) listing (beside the map in search results) be sure the exact address is listed in all the super/yellow pages sites, there's a paid business directory google respects too, and get more reviews than the competirion.

It sounds like you are only interested in targeting your local market.

Do you have any competition? If not, it should be a cake walk. If so, do some competitive research and find out what your competition is doing. And then do it better.

The *best* competitive analysis information I've seen in the past three years was by Darryl Peddle, faculty member at StomperNet. It might be worth a months membership at $197/mo just to get that information.

If you have physical location, ranking high on Google Local is a must. Unless you are in a highly competitive business with lots of competition, getting a high position is relatively easy.

There are a number of courses, etc. on how to rank with Google Local. The ones I've seen were all part of paid membership sites, but you might be able to find something in the forums or WSOs here.

If you are knowledgeable with SEO and websites, you could use Google Local to find businesses that don't have an online presence to approach as another source of income.

Or hook up with the local Chamber of Commerce, local computer stores, or business consultants to find more business for online marketing.
