Hey warriors,
I didn't know where to post my idea, but, thinking about it, I told myself that nobody would want to create such a blog So here is my idea : I'd like to create a blog where I will experience polyphasic sleep. For those who don't know what it is, the big idea is that there is 2 "sleeping style". First, like 99% of the population, sleep once or twice a day for a total of approx. 8 hours of sleep, the normal style and the polyphasic style. The polyphasic style has 3 popular sleep schedule : Everyman (3h + 3x 20min) Uberman (6x 20min) Dymaxion (4x 30min) So, for my blog, I'll use myself as a laboratory rat to experiment the Uberman "sleeping style". I'll blog everyday once or twice a day (I'll definitely have the time to do this ) and I'd like this website to be used as a blog platform so the blog followers will be able to create their own blog to experiment polyphasic sleep as well. I want this future website (polyphasic-lifestyle.com by the way) to become the world reference when we talk about polyphasic sleep. I'm thinking about getting a doctor to follow me and put my evaluations on videos, I'll certainly approach some sleep researchers to do some tests and to get evaluations, I really want my website to create good science value. I'm planning on monetizing my website with adsense revenue and by selling products about Insomnia (I'm actually suffering from insomnia, that's why I want to try polyphasic sleep) and other sleep disorders problems. What do you think about it? Could I create a video blog only and adding some content value by writing some articles that will explain in details what polyphasic sleep? Is it possible to have great SE position with a video blog? What platform would you use to create a blog platform? If you have any advices, please, don't hesitate as it's my first blog and I want it to become a perfect success. Thanks for your help! |

Two times 8 hours sounds good to me.
![]() Using yourself as laboratory rat may not make much sense if you're not the kind of person who enjoys that sleeping style. If you find you hate it and post about it that way you lose your audience. It seems a pretty focused niche. If you find enough chances to monetize it, go for it. Quote:
That's tough. Get going and correct your course while being on the way. There's not doubt that not-so-perfect issues will come up. It's a great value, but if you rely on it too much it will slow you down. Just do it. ![]() Ralf | |

I also wanted to add that, even if there is blogs already talking about this topic, I'll be the only one to test the limit of this lifestyle : I'll push my body to his limits by practicing intense physical activities, I'll try to drink alcool (I do not drink alcool usually, I'm a pretty calm man
), I'll travel in differents countries to see if polyphasic sleep is doable when you don't have every perfect conditions to practice it.Bestcover, what are you using to create such blogs? I'm waiting for your advices warriors! Thanks! |

Sounds pretty golden to me! A nice tight niche that I've never heard of but am definitely interested in. Definitely go for Wordpress for your blog - I'm addicted to it! There are tons of free themes (templates) and plugins, and getting it set up is a piece of cake.

If you are passionate about the topic then go for it. There is no reason not to make a blog, but if you are only doing it to simply make money then I'd say find another niche that you are interested in as you will find yourself enjoying the experience of writing an creating unique content with something that you care about.
Then you can start to see how to make money from it. As for platforms, get Wordpress. Don't use their hosting services, get your own so that you can have complete ownserhip over how to generate revenue. You might also be interested in this posting at Steve Pavlina, Polyphasic Sleep in USA Today as he has done something similar... Also you might want to check out my site, MasterBlogProfits in the sig below for some early pointers on making money with blogs ![]() Any questions happy to answer... Cheers |

I knew, as the member who wrote the post above, about Steve Pavlina blog. He conducted an "experiment" very similar to yours... Anyway, this is a market niche where you may make money. And, if not, you can always have a few anecdotes to tell your friends...

hey man,
Don't really have any device for you, but thought this was very interesting since I have decided TODAY to experiment with polyphasic sleep. Kind of spooky to randomly see a post on it in the warrior forum! hahaha. Anyway, just wanted to point out in case you have not seen it yet, a set of articles by Steve Pavlina. He documented a whole experiment of it. Very cool if you have not read it yet. Good luck man, JD |

Yep I read it, actually, it's his blog that made me think that I could create a blog specialised on this subject.
