Another article marketing thread

I've been doing a little thinking. I've been having success with article marketing but the sales seem to trickle in and there's days where I don't make a dime. That's extremely frustrating...It makes me sick to my stomach to log into my cb account and see a big fat zero....lol

I'm wondering if 3 articles are really needed for 1 product/niche. How about one well written article with great keywords? Why do we need 3?

Lastly, I'm wondering what's wrong with targeting competitive keywords? I've been targeting keywords that have very little competition but they do produce results just not the results I believe I could have with a competitive keyword that produces more searches.

I made $250 this week but haven't made a dime in the last 48 hours...that's a little bothersome to me. There's got to be a way to produce income more consistently.

First off, congratulations on the $250 this week, that is better than a large percentage of people.

Second, where does this "3 articles" idea come from? If I have a product/niche I'm promoting I do not have a number of needed articles. I have a list of ideas (or keywords) which I am choosing to write about. It might be 10, 20, or more articles. Then it is time to review what is working, what is not, and make adjustments.

By all means start writing for some competitive keywords. You may not rank highly on Google today for them, but you can still generate traffic from EZA for a short while. Plus, there is a higher chance of your material getting syndicated if it is high quality and written to a higher competition market. When you material is syndicated then you get several big bonuses.

#1 - You do not need to create the backlinks for SEO ranking your primary site your article is spreading your links for you.

#2 - You get traffic from the sites using your articles.

#3 - You start becoming an authority in your market.

Make sure you are posting all of your content on your own sites first and working to get your own blogs ranked with the incoming links. Build your own properties.

Your article title has to have the right keywords and has to be interesting. Because you can get back multiples of what you put in and depending on keywords, titles and subject.

Sales drop is normal, holidays are coming and there are very few niches which converts well in holiday season.

As far as "3 articles" question is, article marketing is number game. Though you have article written from one of the best copy writer and targeting the best possible keyword still chances are that your article will not rank. So try to give equal importance to Quality and Quantity.

It seems that you are doing well.

The problem: you loose to many visitors (they never return)

The solution: send them to a lead capture page

PLUS submit your articles with a service like UAW, AMA (both are differents).

PLUS an advice: stick to a niche, and make sure that later on, you create your own product in this niche, and then, another, and then, another (in fact, once a month is great.)
