Default What are your goals for 2009?

I was reflecting back on what has been a busy year for me, getting married and busy offline.

I made a post on my blog reflecting back and also forward and what I hope to achieve in 2009 ....

Got me wondering what goals fellow warriors have set themselves for 2009?

I was hoping also to get some further insperation from your replies

I'll not bore everyone with my specific goals.

What I will say is that I'm setting goals differently this year.

How?

Instead of looking at the year stretching ahead and kidding myself I'll kick ass in a whole bunch of new areas, I'm going to laser-focus on what I do best.

Even so, I have a million and one things I'm going to be doing.

In a nutshell, don't allow the prospect of a whole new year allow you to get distracted. We all know that's our number one enemy!

Cheers,

Neil

My goal is to be able to bring my husband home and have him retire in 2009. He is 40 and a disabled vet.

To do that, I need to double what I am making now.

No problem!

I know an easy way to double what you are doing. Teach your husband what you are doing and BAM! Double profits.

I have done well for myself in 2008 and am proud of what I have accomplished so I would say that my goal for 2009 would be to keep focused and double what I am making now!
Which I am positive that I can accomplish with determination and focus!!

My hubby is a whiz at research. I told him that if he could research and I could write, we would make an awesome team....

I'll move to the US next year.... Hurray! With my family.

In fact I am starting a private blog December on how I make the money to move to the US in April. Obviously I need a home, 4 cars, 1 for each of us, And a strong proven revenue stream of double the amount that I need. Also I am not a US resident or related to any US citizen in any way, the only way I can move to the wonderland is by becoming an investor and purchasing an already existing business... So I'd need money for that too.

But hello! I am coming.

The plan's laid out and I am executing it. It's pretty simple actually oce you know how to outsource!

My biggest goal is to get out of debt and come 31 Dec 2009, I will have achieved that!

Spend more time with my daughter who is about to be 7 in Jan and enjoy life more than I have been.

As for the amount of money I want to be earning next year, well I am going to sit down, plan out what I have to do to earn the figure I have in mind and draw up month by month plan and execute the hell out of that plan!

I already know how to make money online! I already know I can make money online! I simply have to now come up with a plan that I can automate from niche to niche and ramp up my earnings!

Best of luck to all in hitting your personal goals for the year ahead!

In July 2007 following some major life changes, I came up with a list of life goals. I'm sure to many they'll sound lame or weak, but they were mine.

  • Trekking in Nepal (I found out a few months after making the list that my church scheduled a mission trip to Nepal. I'm going this May - after I raise $2500.)
  • Read the Bible (I'm up to John.)
  • Begin exercising regularly and eating right (I've lost 85 lbs. since that day. I still exercise 6 days per week and have been following BodyforLife since last January.)
  • Learn to play the guitar (a friend gave me an acoustic guitar and I've started with chords. I have calluses, but really need a solid lesson plan.)
  • $10,000 per month (I'm afraid that while this goal was specific, I should have made it more tangible. I find myself DRIVING to make the minimum I need to survive and have a hard time really reaching for more. It's classic self-limiting behavior.)
So I will revise my goals for 2009 to include specifics for an income (i.e. what kind of lifestyle do I want from that income), a specific plan for the guitar lessons, and a monthly goal for the remainder of the Nepal fundraising.

-Kelly

Quote:
Side note:

A friend just returned from a mission trio to the Dominican Republic. He went to assist with a HUGE baseball camp. For the youth there, baseball is one of the only ways out.

In Nepal, they don't even have baseball.

  • Physicians (density per 100,000 population) (2007) 21
  • There are 107,000 Bhutanese refugees who have resided in camps in Eastern Nepal for the last 16 years with complete reliance on international aid.
  • More than 20,000 Nepali girls/women are sold into slavery each year
  • An estimated 95% of the population of the country has never even heard of Christianity.

We will be spending 4-5 days in Kathmandu then the remainder of our 12 days trekking between villages in the Everest region.

My biggest goal is to actually sit down and make a list of my goals I never did this when I started and I started to forget what I wanted to accomplish and how. I also want to set a goal to make time for work. I tend to put it aside too often getting wrapped up in everything going on at home.

I'm finally quitting my job in jan next year (already told work)

Planning to go live on the beach somewhere in east asia for a while.

Also learning to surf (just did that for the first time on saturday), DJ and stand up comedy (3 big goals of mine)

For money my goal I've got written all over my house (including on the roof above my bed) is $21,000 a month by April 2009, which will be enough to support myself and my whole family comfortably (mum, dad, sister, girlfriend).

Good luck with your goals everyone!

I just want to have freedom.
I want to be able to live in Thailand and support myself here.
I really don't even need that much money to do it.
I can live well on $50 per day..
Of course, I obviously want to make more than that ..

So, specific goals by the end of 2009 ..

Write 1000 articles
Have a targeted opt in mailing list of 100,000 people
Earn between 40,000 - 50,000 a year (that goes a long way in Thailand)

And non-IM related ..

Fight before the King of Thailand in the "Kings Cup" next December ..
3 students here at the camp I'm at are doing it this year and it's a huge honour ..

I'm now making about $7/Day from Affiliate Marketing and my goal for 2009 is to increase it to $200/Day so that I can quit my full time job.

Since it is a "How to Make Money" forum - I will list some of my monetary goals.

In 2008 I achieved most of my goals, when it came to money. I achieved my plan of becoming a full time IM'er and making enough money to pay all my bills and a vacation in Europe. I guess for 2009 I need to raise the bar a little, so here we go:

- In 2009 I will make my second million dollars... since the first millions that I planned to make in 2008 was never made

- In 2009 I will buy a house here in Montreal. And another one in Spain or Germany.

- In 2009 I will visit at least 5 different countries... on vacation.

- In 2009 I will buy the new BMW M5 - yes I am a car freak and my $30,000 Volkswagen just isn't doing the job

... small goals for now

My husband can retire anytime. But we need just a bit more income. Then sell the house and cars, put all valuables in storage, buy an RV and golf our way around the US. Since my business is online I can work from the comfort of my new home on wheels.

My biggest goal is to achieve semi-automation of my business so I can go on a 3 months holiday in Asia without having to do more than 3 hours per week during that time.

My main goal is customer-focused.

I want to double the number of members in our private membership site who become 6-figure earners in 2009.

For me, this is the ultimate test of an online business is how much of an impact you are having on other people's lives...there is no high greater than hearing from someone who has emerged from a desparate, futile situation into one where they have immense hope, self-confidence and enthusiasm about the future.

The more impact I can have, the more amazing my life becomes and the money takes care of itself.

Jeff

Well I have come a Long way so far from being a complete newbie in January 2008 to making consistant sales...

Now that I have a system in place, it is much easier to project my goals, but for 2009 here are my short term goals for now..

- Fully retire and do IM full time around March the Latest.
- Grow my monthly online income by %200

those are my priority goals.. for now but there much more I want to accomplish that I`ll keep until I accomplish those two first

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

My goal woulbe be.

Create 10-20 more sites and optimized them with adsense to earn at least $10 daily. If i can achive this by the june 2009 then i think i will rock. I have already 20 eatabilished websites that are earning around $10+/daily each which is around $200/daily from all. My goal would be to make $500/daily by the mid of june 2009

These are goals from now until mid Feb. Then I'll start really attacking 2009.

1. create 15-20 high quality dropshipping sites. I have 2 right now.

2. create 100 automated niche blogs that are hands off and bring in adsense and aff marketing $$$.

3. write 2-5 ebooks that I can sell on click bank and other sites.

4. build a massive mailing list.

Essentially all these little processes I'm setting up are built to free me from the rat race. You know, actually working a job

Once all these are set up I'm going to take a crazy vacation. Get a pimp house.

Hey Tina I think you're the US equivalent of me!

that's my goal. My Bloke is a carpenter & was really sick earlier this year so he took 6 months off & he's struggling back at work now. So my goal is to get him to retire - he can stay at home & finish our house, we can buy a camper & travel around Australia - with my business on the internet.

I actually want to start doing seminars teaching offline business how to do their own internet marketing & I can see myself tripping round the country educating some Outback Aussies.

Oh & I want a HOT PINK HUMMER!!!

Goal? 2009? Make 10M in a second.

Well, kidding aside. I'd like to grow my niche businesses to fat four figure or five figure monthly and be able to help people overcome strategic and technological challenges in building a blog.

As with last years, I hope this "resolution" won't fade away just the first week of January.

Take my business to the next level. Explore many other niches - be disappointed at a thousand dollar month - and more.
