I hear open office is fantastic and I have seen a Powerpoint presentation done using it which was great.

here is the download link http://download.openoffice.org/index.html I think the Power point equivalent is called Impress if I am not mistaken.

  That's right. It looks a lot like an older version of PowerPoint, but it works well...

Open Office has PowerPoint, well it's own form. It's not AS good, but it's definitely better than nothing.

I still highly recommend PowerPoint because if you own Camtasia, you can just install the plug-in and just hit record and wal-ah, instant video creator.

Someone mentioned needing camtasia to turn Microsoft powerpoint presentations into movies - but I'm pretty sure that Powerpoint can save the presentation as a wmv or something like that already.

Wonder if impress has that facility too? (I have both).
