Default Let's Dominate the Content Network Gold Mine!!

hey,

I want to launch a campaign on the content network but I'm finding it harder and harder. The reason for this is due to all the QS changes, new technologies (eg. image ads, site placement), more competition, etc.

The purpose I want to get out of this thread is for myself and everyone who reads it to be up to date with the latest and most effective strategies for the google CN.

I think that if we share our best tips, we can all get a lot of value out of this.

So after a few hours research, here's what I've found:
*Now I don't know how accurate this is, but I'm hoping that some content network experts can tell me whether this is right or wrong.

- you need to bid very high in the first few days of launching your content campaign
- CTR is everything - therefore if you can get a high CTR google will lower your bids after a few days, but you need to start off bidding high.

Here are a few questions I personally have about the CN:

1. How do you know when to use CPC and when to use CPM?
2. Are there any QS differences when using text ads, image ads, or placement ads?
3. What is the best bidding strategies?

thanks in advance!

Hopefully by the end of this thread we'll all be experts on the CN and have a competitive edge over the current advertisers
