the 2 greatest article questions: quantity or quality? rewrite or original?

Hey guys,

i've been building niche sites as of late and i'm considering both of these things and i'm opting for some advice from some warriors here, what's important?

quantity or quality and will rewrites be ok, or nothing trumps original (meaning own, researched content)?

I am considering doing both and depending on certain factors to setup different things.

We have said this over and over again.

Quality is better than quantity. Original/unique contents are better than rewrites.

    Francis,

Quality trumps quantity but if your writing more articles that have good quality then the combination of quality and quantity is killer.

In terms of rewrites, they too can be very effective if done properly. The key is to remember that search engines like Google love unique, valuable, relevant content. And so when rewriting an article just make it as unique as possible and you will see some good results.

For now, stick with testing these methods and see which one proves to be the most effective and run with the winner. And when you're making some money you can forget about these questions and just outsource the whole thing to experienced and quality writers.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, all of you are right. You should mix like do 3 quality articles and one rewrite. A rewrite should not be just a simple copy paste duplicate, but add your personal opinion.

    Let me add:

Quantity is useless if there's no quality in it. However, quality is more valuable if it's in higher quantity.

Rewrites are craps if they are not unique.

Both quality is definitely best but you also want as many as possible out there. My advice to you unique articles for Ezinearticles and your blog if you have one. Then you can submit those articles to the other major article directories once they have been indexed.

I'm slightly surprised that these are anyone's "2 greatest article questions", to be honest.

Quality always wins over quantity, from my perspective. If you write for syndication, which is where the real money is, quality can lead to quantity as your articles get syndicated. If they're good enough to be syndicated.

Quality can produce quantity. Quantity alone can only decline.

Quality will get you syndicated to some high-PR, context-relevant sites which will give you targeted traffic and really good backlinks, leading to gradually increasing opt-ins, sales and income from work already done. That's growing a real business.

Mass-submission and rewriting leads only to temporary, very poor quality, PR-0 backlinks on non-context-relevant sites, many of which (article directories) have in any case a very limited lifespan.

People who have been used to a "quantity/writing-for-clicks approach" to article marketing but are persuaded to switch to a "quality/writing-for-syndication approach" never switch back again, once they see what it gradually does for their SEO and incomes.

        No comparison at all.

Yep, 'seems' like a no-brainer to me. Of course, this is what happens one isn't versed in how things REALLY work online: we get threads like these claiming that these are the 2 greatest article questions...lol

I personally prefer to read articles that are no longer than 500 words and the paragraphs are spaced out making it easily digestable. Oh and quality over quantity everytime!

ok, i know this might be a silly question but if you are rewriting a quality article (assuming you have an eye) and do a complete rewrite, does this mean your article now or blog info is now quality?

adding opinion, voice and a better headline. would this be considered quality in your opinion, especially if you know nothing about the niche.

Quality over quantity! And I agree that it can't look too daunting to read, otherwise people will just skip right over the whole thing.

    Hi Francis,

    Please CONSIDER the followings:

    - frequency of publishing your content

    - quality content bring credibility

    - quality content make your marketing more effective

    - quantity may be not effective if it sacrifies quality

If you are going to go on the QUALITY route:

    - avoid mistake, it needs complex research but the reader will get more out of your writing (Win - Win)

    - as you make more research, you get more knowledge -- therefore you can give more quality info to your readers (Win - Win)

    - you can reach more credibility if peple see you know what you are doing, I mean you have greater influence and your audience grows

    Let' see the QUANTITY route:

    - IT needs extensive research on your topic because that will facilitate to compose info for circulation (producing will be easier)

    - as your knowledge and experience grows, you will need lesser time to involve into producing (it is advantageous if you work against the clock)

    - with this strategy you can to flood your market with useful info (you can be known commonly)

    Conclusion:

Your choice between them may depends on your ambition, skill, time frame, and last but not least your goals.

Frequently publishing will push you in front of people, forming your identity more earlier. By publishing quality content your marketing will be more effective and favorably to your readers. Please, bear in mind that the best result cannot be accessible without FOCUS and EFFORT.

Rewiting is a quite different animal. It works, but IMHO that is perfect for those only who accept small success.

I agree with King Shiloh on that.

    All the best,

    Sandor

The method I'm using at the moment which seems to be working is to start writing reasonable quality articles without looking for any direct article traffic for my new sites to help build up their rankings, then once I'm happy with where they're sitting in the SERPs, I start writing high quality articles with the aim of cementing their high search rankings and gaining some direct article traffic.

By reasonable articles, I'm still talking of original content, but usually written by some of my overseas outsourcers. These articles are still good enough to be accepted be EzineArticles straight away. The higher quality articles I take the time to write myself.

    Cheers
