What's your favorite method when you need quick traffic?

Traffic Exchanges would be the quickest, you probably won't make any sales, but if you had a nice squeeze page you could probably add some subscribers to your list that way.

This sounds like a good option. I am going to try a solo ad next week and see if that works. Ive heard they work well for building a list, but I am going to try to generate some sales as well. Tapping into some else's list ( especially if its responsive) has got to be one of the fastest ways to get quick traffic.

It depends on what you want the traffic for.

If you are building page views to a page for some bluefart purpose like increasing the number of views on your articles, then I would buy expired domain traffic, traffic exchange traffic, or throw an Ad Exchange service on my highest trafficked pages to get credits that I can use for other projects.

If you are looking to build real traffic that converts, PPC is fastest, but article marketing and forum marketing tend to produce the best-converting traffic.

If you are doing CPA offers, PPV offers some really good bang for the buck and fast, but it can be expensive.

There's no one-size-fits-all.

The fastest way to get lots of clicks is to use social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, YouTube... Unfortunately however, most of this is untargeted traffic, and unlikely to convert. You get lots of clicks, and it just increases your bandwidth costs.

Here's what works:

* Think about what you're marketing

* Think about the audience

* Create an ad/ landing page combination that audience can't resist

* Use whatever traffic method the audience responds to...

FWIW, my favorite traffic methods are article marketing and press releases. They're long-lasting and give you a great ROI.

Traffic exchanges can give you lots of hits, but very few if any sales. You can get hundreds of hits/day. Those folks are just surfing to get credits to send out more site impressions so they very rarely even look at your offer. Try it, see what you do.
I have had a few sales, not directly - they came via an email I sent after they signed up for my list.
So it is in the list.

The most dependable and fastest way to get traffic is via a paid traffic source: Adwords, Facebook, PPV, etc...

The downside being it costs money.

You can try all the free stuff, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Unless you can create some amazing content that goes viral through the various social networks, you are stuck with paid traffic if you want instant traffic.

It's a totally different story in the long run..

Thanks for the posts. These are some good ideas I'll try out. I like the yahoo answers one.

The traffic I am looking for is NOT just views to a page - I'd like to get it to at least convert it to subscribers.

Good stuff so far. For press releases - does anyone have a particular site that they use that gets some good results?

I used Yahoo answers for 5 months. They did bring traffic around 20 visits a day and some back links but no sales. I eventually felt my time was better spent creating more content for my website and getting back links.

Release a WSO and get instant traffic. Find joint venture partners - though you need to sell your own product, be it one you created or got rights to. You can also be a JV broker - just research it.

It all depends what you're selling. I generated quite a few conversions for my designer clothing affiliate store just by handing out cards in trendy clubs (my city has no where to buy high end designer clothes though)

Don't listen to the generic stuff.

Go to where your prospects hang out, and give them what they need (like shamabamma did)

You can do the same online. Heck the Warrior Forum is the perfect example of a vendor->seeker market.

  Fastest way to get Traffic.
  
  Run a classified ad on a classified ad site with a PR 5 or 6.
  
  Make sure your keyword is in the title, the description and
  the the tag section.
  
  Next we use the site Feedage.com. Very easy to use.
  
  Next we find a site where we can ping the site, there are
  several that do a great job.
  
  Then we find 10 blogs that allow us to have "do follow link"
  These blogs have a page rank from 1 up to PR7. We are doing
  this to get links back to our ad.
  
  Last we send out a press release to 3 or 4 press release sites
  that have a PR of 3 to 5.
  
  This usually takes us around 12 working hours.
  
  With this many PR autority sites pointing Google spiders
  to us we can be on the front page in usually 48 hours.

Most of the fastest ways have been mentioned throughout this thread. I'm finding that Facebook works better for me then Twitter but both are fast. I've yet to set up a Facebook fanpage but once I do I expect it would convert extremely well.

Article marketing in its purest form (submitting articles to directories) is great for long term traffic but quick traffic is a bit more difficult. However, if you can get an article published on several blogs as a guest blogger this can be a fantastic way to drive a horde of quick traffic depending on the popularity of the blog.

Ad swaps appear to be an effective way to drive fast traffic. I can't speak from experience as I've yet to participate in an adswap but based on postings by some marketers I respect they seem to work well.

Traffic exchanges and PPC can drive traffic as well as forum postings but at the end of the day you want to make sure the traffic you drive is targeted and not simply window washing.

It would depend upon what I wanted to do with that traffic,
but often I roll out a new product via an affiliate program,
often paying 100% instant commission using a script like
Rapid Action Profits.

This gets others to send me traffic, build my list and also gives
me the opportunity to make immediate sales via a OTO or
up -sell.

Even if I'm marketing an affiliate product, I may lead with an
inexpensive 100% commission front-end product, pointing that
traffic to the affiliate product after I've got them on my list so
that I can follow up with them.

That is at times not only the fastest, but it's the cheapest,
and if you got them via affiliates making sales, they are proven
buyers.

"But you can't come up with a product" you say. Hire a ghost
writer or rework some PLR... just don't complicate it

When I need Quick Traffic to my website. I usually go to Social Media Markets like Twitter, Facebook, and various others. This is one of the quickest ways to produce traffic to your website. Along with posting in forums such as the Warrior's Forum. ...and Another way I have learned to get traffic to my website is through Safelist and Free Solo Ads from Textad exchanges and such. Some top ways, listed in no particular order, include the following:

- Pick up the phone and call prospects, current clients and past ones - seek referrals, while you're at it.

- Email and invite the above to chats for the same type thing (networking)

- Send out an ezine issue

- Email a time sensitive special

- Post some type of paid Warrior ad (for Hire, Classified, WSO, etc.)

Depends what you want to ahieve. If you just want to increase pageviews or alexa ranking then try popunder or expired domain, traffic exchanges etc. otherwise you can try ppc like adwords to increase traffic fast. Alternatively you can also find a site in your niche and negotiate to place your ad or banner on that site to get quick traffic. Try buysellads for finding the sites related to your niche.
