Please could someone Help With My Site?

Hi Fellow Warriors

I need Help please If possible? I've been wondering around the great Warrior forums for a few weeks now before deciding to take the plunge and get started,

Ive read and read and read so many amazing posts I finally got a site up (Took a lot more time to than I thought),

mark-bull.com

I've added some links and custom header but please could someone critique my site and tell me what's missing?

Probably a lot I know but I just need to know If I'm heading in the right direction???

Internet Marketing is a lot harder than people think so I take my hat off to everyone of you who stick's with is and making a living through it

Thanks & Best Regards to You All

I see a lot of blogs and I think yours looks nice and neat and clean - it's nice to see for a change. Keep it simple. Since you are primarily trying to get people to optin to your list I would come up with a better reason for them to optin than just "High Value Free Gifts".

As you probably know there are a lot of people out there in your position, just starting out and trying to get their head around Internet Marketing. So I think a lot of people could relate to your journey and would seek comfort and re-assurance by being a part of your list and following your journey as they make their own.

So keep posting updates on what you are doing and try to figure out some better reason for people to join your list.

What exactly that you want? The right direction to...?

Oh.. this is too general.. be specific Mark!

Anyway, if you are looking for comment on your site design..

The truth is, the site design don't matter much. What make the difference are great unique content, regular update and quality banklinks.

Otherwise, it's just another "Wordpress" blog...

Have the best of luck on your journey. So far your post summaries look a bit like twitter posts, it may be instrutive for some to watch your every step along the way You might look at whatever disclaimer requirements might be needed in the about screen.

That exit-pop redirect to some unrelated sales page seems like a very heavy handed use of it. They were, at least at the start intended for sales sites to squeeze a few more checkout page completions from those who are teetering on the edge. Just springing it on people out of nowhere is not going to help you develop a following which vanity sites (using your name) are usually about.

Nice and clean looking, but I'd put a bit more content into your posts. Include how you are feeling about your accomplishments and failures, any tips your readers can take away so they don't make the same mistakes...

I have to say, it is waaaayyyyy better than the first site I ever created.

    Hi Mark,

A simple and clean look, I like it.

I'd lighten up your colors though. A grey background and black header in your opt-in form might not be as appealing.

Other than that resist the temptation to add clutter. The more directed your design the bigger your list grows. Give readers only 1 or 2 calls to action and they will act.

    Just left your site.

The confirm navigation box might be a little much. When most people leave your site they want to leave your site. If you stick with it take out the "YES" from your $500 line.

    Take Care,

Okay, I'm going to play the unpopular grammar police because.....well, that's just who I am. :p

Your Internet Marketing Journey Starts Here
Preferred - one F, two Rs
Punctuations - a comma after "Well"
        </anal retentive grammar police>

And I'm also thinking about the Free Offer of a "Proven Blueprint for Building a $20,000 per Month Online Business" on a brand new blog by a complete newbie to be a bit...I don't know...strange?

Ditto for your exit pop-up message.

I'm a newbie as well, so maybe that's why I see it that way. Maybe the more experienced marketers will see it differently.

How about something more in the line of: "This is the book that helped me get started - get your free copy here."

I do like the clean feel of the site and it's a great idea for a blog - Follow along on my journey.

I wanted to make a blog like that. I even still have the domain with WP uploaded on it, sitting there with a big fat Hello World!

        At least you took action.

        Good luck on your journey!

Thanks PhoebeSmellyCat I should have double checked it before I posted, Consider it changed.

You might want to write something about yourself and provide is picture Maybe a video aswell. Keep up the good work and it will all full into place
NeilWilliams2010 Good point, That was on my list to do, I agree I need to fill the about me page up a bit,

Can I be cheeky and ask? Are you an Internet marketer? (I know that the warrior forum is for marketers) As I really need someone a mentor and notice your also in the UK which makes things a lot easier.

The road gets longer but the cars getting faster, Thanks again for your comments I WILL GET THERE....

It looks nice, however, I noticed a few grammatical and spelling errors. When I put up a new page, I proof read it, and then I proof read it again, then I post it, and then I proof read it again. For me, it is a little bit of a turn off when I see these mistakes. It's just a minor problem, easily fixed by reading what you write. Other than that, congratulations on your first site.

TomVa I appreciate you looking at my site I'm determined to keep it simple and clean but just wondering if anyone else uses exit pop-ups and what success they have using them? I don't want to be annoyed when visiting and trying to leave my site as you were,

      Best Regards
