Hello Warriors, In your opinion what is the best place for getting your site in compliance? I mean for geting the terms of use, privacy policy, purchase agreement and things like that? I found a couple of sites: Save Your Business (And Your Butt!) With Internet Law Compliance And Legal Terms and Privacy Policy for Your Website by Attorney Brian Kindsvater Anyone have any dealings with the two above? Or can you recommend something else that is legal? Thanks in advance for your help.. Best regards, Dennis Cheesman |

There is another one: autoweblaw.com A friend of mine had used it and he found it to be very cool. I was thinking about getting the legal stuff down, but didn't really get down to it. Chris |

The one that caused all the trouble here was named "web law generator" not autoweblaw. I never heard of autoweblaw before now. For my own legal pieces I went to guru.com and got a REAL attorney (with over 20 years experience) to write the things for me custom to my needs. Easy, painless and didn't cost much. Sean |

Hi Dennis, I am not a lawyer and not giving legal advice. In my experience it is best to obtain your legal forms from a lawyer in the state your business is registered and if you run your business from a dedicated server it is best to obtain a separate set of forms from a lawyer in the state your server is located. When both the business and server are in the same state, one lawyer is best. However, if the two are in separate sates it is best to have a lawyer draw up a combined document. Easily done. Three major points I have learned from lawyers. 1. A statement that any disputes must be filed in State X. 2. Products and Services are not holding in every state. Best to draw up a combined statement. 3. Any and all personage tick a form of agreement before purchase. I have been advised that this does "not" apply in all states, but it is a strong argument. Again, I am not a lawyer and not giving legal advise. This is just my own experience. Jeffery 100% :-) |
