Facebook Temporarily Suspended my Account

I notified them that I think I was hacked (some message about free ipads went out of my account) and they "temporarily suspended my account" after asking me to change my email passwords.

Question: has this happened to anyone here and did you get your account back? How long did it take? It's been a few days already :-(

    It's the holidays, no one is really working that hard at any company. Give them a few days after the first of their year and I'm sure they'll get it straightened out.

    Did you go ahead and change your passwords when they requested it?

    Yes, I had a problem with my account with Facebook about a month ago.

    I could not login and the error message said someone had been trying to use my account.

    I had to go through a lot of security questions to just change my password!

    Anyway, it worked after a few days I was logging back in.

    Were you asked to change your password when you tried to log-in, or was it via email?

    You do want to make sure that it really is a message from
    Facebook as already pointed out.

    Then you want to determine exactly why they think that
    you did something that warranted suspension.

    I have had an account temporarily suspended. I fixed what
    they saw as a problem, and they un-suspended the
    account.

    Often when you get an account suspended, or limited,
    on one of these sites, the hardest challenge is figuring
    out exactly what they are trying to tell you that you did
    wrong, so that you know what to correct.

    The quickest way to get your account un-suspended, is to click on the link saying you forgot your password. Then go through their security process to get it back.

      Thank you all for your replies.
      First of all, changing the password didn't work!!! I just got the suspended error message again.

      I did change my email passwords as a result of the messages that Facebook gave me (the messages happened on the Facebook site and not by email).

      Every time I try to log in Facebook tells me that I have been temporarily suspended as a result of a phishing attempt.

      I basically gave up and opened a new account, which was a BIG pain. I had to use a different email account and I have to start friending people from scratch. Big pain.

      *sigh* And this all happened as a result of me telling Facebook that I was hacked. That'll teach me...

    Happens to me all the time. Just give it time and you will be back in business soon. Its a good idea to have multiple accounts. Spread your marketing over them if your doing so called great hat stuff!

      Thank you. Doesn't it get confusing, though, to have 2 separate Facebook accounts with my name? Heck, I'm confused already!

    What a pain.. I hope next year Facebook shall have their hotlines..
    If you will be befriending with those people in your old account then maybe using the same name may confuse them but geez, its the only way for them to recognize that it is you who was adding them.

      Exactly. Most of the people are just going along with it. One guy got suspicious and sent me a friend request to my old account and naturally, I couldn't even respond to it!! Grrrr!
