If a product stops working, do you keep selling it?

I've seen a number of people actively marketing products that no longer work. Personally, if I was aware that a product didn't work any longer, I'd have to stop promoting it no matter how well it may sell. If I wanted to promote other people's products, there are plenty out there to choose from.

What do you guys think?

I agree with you to a point, Steve, but then I think of all of those age reducing creams, hair loss products, diet products, how to attract members of the opposite sex products, loophole filled insurance products and countless others that I could list and then I remember that where there is demand there needs to be supply.

This will always be the case.

Personally I wouldn't sell something I didn't believe in, although as a marketing and advertising consultant, I guess I work on strategies that contradict this every day. However, there have been times where I have declined the opportunity to pitch for business that I thought was questionable.

And I'm really speaking of an information product that worked at one point, but later didn't work due to changes external to the product. For example, a guide on how to get on the front page of a particular search engine that later stopped being nearly as effective due to changes in the SE's algo.
