Aweber pop form shows beneath Youtube video...help

Good morning,

I was looking at my blog this morning and noticed that my Aweber Lightbox pop up form is showing underneath the embedded Youtube videos on my site, thereby partially obscuring the view.

Has any on else had this issue and is there a fix?

Thanks!

Ken

  • Hi, its a internet wide problem, videos will always play on top of your facebox/light box. We developed a fix for it until youtube then made their own changes which made it stop working.

We have an optin bar which sits at bottom of the page which then avoids this technical problem.

Here you go, Aweber has a knowledgebase article that covers this exact problem. The fix worked for me. How Do I Fix My Form To Appear Above Flash Content? :: AWeber Knowledge Base

techvic is right. You need to employ the fix given by Aweber in his link below...but in addition you need to make sure you use Youtube's old embed code, not the new one.

I couldn't get it to work with the new one, but old one works great with the mods.

Hope this helps anyone that needs it. K

    Hey Everyone,

I got the form to pop up over the Youtube video, but it won't do it in Chrome (only IE and FF). Anyone know how to fix this?

Also, are there any negative ranking impacts by using the embed (iframe) function in Youtube?

Quick way move the Youtube video so it does not interfere I had to do this on numerous occasions I am not sure about a quick fix around this I just shuffle everything around so it doesn't interfere with my opt-in form.

Your welcome Kenneth no problem. Another tip I use is integrate the read more plugin function on all your blog posts, and have the video near the bottom of your post, so it does not interfere with your opt-in form.

You never know when Youtube are going to change things again. I would just eliminate the problem completely or replace the youtube video with an image of the youtube video and when people click on that image it starts playing - much like Youtube works on Facebook fan pages.

That might be a smart way to go. Thanks for the tip Will.
