I have built my first wordpress review site and I am receiving comments from people. Should I approve these comments or trash them?

Will these comments help or hurt my site? The comments just say stuff like "very useful information", ya know very vague comments.

What should I do?

Are they real comments? Doesn't sound like it.

If they submitted a website along with the comment personally I would delete it. On one of my blogs I have 1500 comments and none of them have a website along with em.

In conclusion. Your comments sound like they are auto commenting spam.

    • The only time I will approve comments on my blogs is when it is obvious the poster has actually read the post. Their post must be specific to the post. If not its trashed. I agree with aaron_nimocks if its vague its spam.

I develop WordPress plugins and to test them I often just build a new WordPress site with Fantastico and try the code out. During development it isn't uncommon for me to build 20 or more of these temporary sites.

It always amazes me how quick these test sites pick up comments, all of it SPAM. They are all commenting on the "Hello World" post, saying what useful information it was! Naturally their link for Viagra or or a CPA offer is always attached.

I would trash those comments immediately. They certainly won't add any value to either your user experience or SEO. In fact they probably weren't even made by humans - just some post bot out snooping for the obvious signature of a WordPress site.

    Hi
I have the same problem with my wordpress sites. Nearly all comments are spam. I delete the lot. Most is auto blog spam anyway i would say.

I hadn't thought about the last part of your comment before. I will definitely delete those comments. I have thought about closing comments on my site altogether because I get a lot of junk posts that I have to delete. I wish I could get comments that were relevant like Aaron.

I agree with everyone. If its obviously spam trash them. I'm sure you can tell if they are genuine

I go through them very quickly and toss the rubish
I use a plugin that then puts the comments on a single page so I get more spider food.
The plugin can make these posts no follow

The following comment author sites should have their links intact (and dofollowed). Type in websites without http:// and www. (ie. only google.com). One site per line.
