A niche market is a subdivision of a huge field, much like football or cricket is a niche of sport.

All you need to do really is think of a particular field like health, sport, beauty, computing and then drill down into it...with luck because there is less competition in these smaller areas you will be better able to dominate

Ebay and other stores are great ways to find niches

To find a niche market there are a lot of things that you can do, I personally prefer to stick with hobbies. The reason for this is that people have no problem spending money on their hobbies and even though there are a lot of websites for the hobbies, they usually are quite bad at SEO.

To find good keywords for whatever niche you're looking at, just search "allintitle:keyword" . I want less that 1000 results, but the less results the easier.

Finding your niche is basically based on your likeness first.
What's your hobby? what's your interest?

Because you will deal with niche you've chosen for a very2 long time. That's why you need to find your interest first.

Secondly, make sure you choose a profitable niche. In other words, niche which already buy. They really want to spend money. There's no use you deal with the niche which don't want or hardly spend their money on information.

Third, Find a suitable system that suits you to exploit the niche and at once, teaching you how to create your offer and traffic.

There (the system) can be blogging, affiliate marketing, resale right, etc. I must tell you there's a lot way to rome, but as long as it's legal, and you like it, just do it!

      Hope this help,

      -Lemy

The better question is how do you find a profitable niche market? And that's done with a combination of both hard work with some serious trial and errors.

Here's whats been somewhat successful for me, this is just on method that I use though.

    Go to clickbank marketplace
Go to each category on the left and click on it
    Sub categories will show up
Stay away from the MMO, IM stuff, already saturated
Stick to mass markets and find a sub niche
Build sites arond product you want to promote.

There's a lot of trial and error here but if you're willing to work you'll find some real gems.

    Goodluck

This. Clickbank is great for finding products and niches that interest you. You might also consider looking at CPA offers. They can be very lucrative when promoted right.

    r,
    What are you good at?
What is it that people call you the 'go-to' guy in that field?

That's your niche and you can start in that market.
Google that keyword (put in "") and drill down
and look to get results of less than 50,000 competing
    websites.

This is a way to start, and you'll be
on your way to getting traffic, rankings, etc.

Don't worry about being such a total newb. EVERYBODY
    was once there before!

Happy holidays, and stay here in the forum-

One way of getting or knowing a niche is to start with yourself. Get into something that you are really interested about or have a lot of knowledge of.

There are main markets from which to find a niche:

    1. Health
    2. Wealth
    3. Lifestyle

Within those markets there are lots of niches. For example, within the Health market there are the following niches: diet, weight loss, vitamin supplements, quit smoking, increase energy, children's health, headache relief, medical issues, alternative therapies...

    You get the picture

Within the lifestyle market there is: personal development, baby boomers, dating, pets, computers, homecare...

These are all huge niche markets and there are people making lots of money in all of them.

    Hope this helps.

Ok thank you all for the insite, I have recently moved from Costa Rica back to the states and I was in the gambling industry their for the last 10 years, I have a lot of leads for that industry but it's not legal n the states so I will have to give up on that, which stinks but it's good also seeing as my marketing was alot different then IM it was more cold calling and getting people to play at the sportsbook we where affilliated with.

Now that this industry is gone I have to find a new toy to play with so I will have to figure out what other things I like and try and market them. Thanks again so so much feed back this is a great place.
