You Have Too ASK For The Money!!!

Hello Warrior's,

Here is a bit of a rant I have been thinking about recently, and wanted to share with my fellow Warrior's.

This is a piece of KEY information for all who are looking for online marketing success.

This is one of the key concepts that lead to a major break through (and income increase) in my internet marketing businesses several years ago. It's incredibly simple, yet I think so many IM'ers over look it.

Here it is:

"You Have To Ask For The Money"

Meaning at some point you MUST ask your website visitors to part with some of their money in return for your products and services, and feel GOOD about taking their money.

On the surface it's obvious and almost everyone thinks they are doing this. But I am willing to wager my wireless mouse that most of use, at some point, have internal issues with this. These issues must be faced and defeated in order to succeed online.

These issues stem from all sorts of things, such as; my product is not worth anything, taking money is bad, selling stuff is not honorable, etc....

These are all limiting beliefs. Ones that can severely hurt your income potential.

Does the following sound familiar to any of you?

* You work hard identifying a online market.
* You create a product/service or find a affiliate product to sell to this market.
* You spend a ton of time creating sites, blogs, content, back links, videos, keyword research, and on and on........
* You worry about page rank
* You spend too much on PPC
* You buy countless WSO's to find the secret ingredient to make your site a success.

I think you see where I am gong with this.

You do all this work, yet on your site the actual "MONEY GETTING" gets very little attention, and you have spent all kinds of time.

For me, all this turned around when I realized that no one was going to give me anything if I didn't ask for it loudly, and give good reason for them to give it to me.

I started spending less time on making each of my sites 'perfect' and more time creating additional money getting sites.

I realized that the more "BUY NOW" buttons I had out there, the more people would buy from me.

For me it was far better to have 10 decent sites selling stuff, rather then one perfect site selling one item. When you create multiple money getting sites yo will soon realize which ones are producing, then you can spend more time on those.

Bottom Line:

Get as many "Buy Now" buttons out there. Yes they need to be backed up with quality products/services, but the more you have the more you will earn. Period.

And remember: It is not bad to ask for money.

End Rant!

    Please give me your money.

But just to show that I am a man of measure, I will send you a copy of my latest WSO when you send me the money using the form on the page here.

bdm, this is an excellent point and one that I think many people struggle with.

One of the best quotes about selling is: "Ask for the sale"

Even offline salespeople struggle with this. I think it's because many people really don't like the idea of selling. We don't like to see ourselves as one of those pushy sales people.

But, every job you've ever held involved working for a company that sells something to somebody. If sales never happened, then jobs and income opportunities wouldn't exist.

So, it's okay to sell something as long as you are offering the buyer a legitimate solution to a problem, or something they will get a lot of value out of owning. You don't have to be pushy, just helpful.

Hey, remember when you were a kid and you nagged your parent for something you wanted? If they gave in and bought it for you, then you sold them on the idea of buying that special toy or game.

As we get older, we forget that the art of persuasion is something that comes natural to us.

      Great points.

I think kids are some of the best 'sales people' in the world.

(Don't tell my 3 year I said that)

If you do it right, you are not selling to anyone. You are simply giving them the chance to buy what they want to buy.

Your job as a salesperson is not to trick someone into buying, but to answer questions that must be answered to help them make a buying decision.

Well said! So few seem to understand this.

Great advice, Bill. Especially on the internet, people hate being 'sold' to, and being overly pushy and aggressive can make you lose the sale really fast.

'Soft' selling works so much better, where as you've mentioned you're not trying to push them to buy anything, but instead you educate them about what you have and how it can help them.

I worked as a double-glazing salesman for about 6 months, and that is as "in the trenches" as you can get. The lessons on sales were continues but the main point they continually pushed was "Ask for the money!"

So many would get the person interested then walk back out the door without a check in their hand, and largely because they didn't ask for one.

Now I could be wrong (I expect someone will tell me just how wrong lol), but to me having the conkers to ask for the money when the customer has reached the buying phase, is 50% of the battle.

This is also true. Once you've delivered value by showing how your product can help, stated its benefits clearly and have reached the point in your message when you should be asking for the money, you cannot chicken out here. Backing out here would be doing both you and the prospect a disservice.

If your site is set up right and targeting the right people, then they want to give you there money as long as it's for a service and product which is going to meet their expectations. I learnt a long time ago, that when it comes to IM products, very few meet my expectations and leave me frustrated and as a rule of thumb, I in turn try not to leave people with that same feeling when promoting someone elses product or service.

The money you are looking for is not hidden in the "Buy Now" button. It's hidden in the quality of your product.

Give people value for their money; don't give them anything less than value for hard earned money.

It's sad that some self-proclaimed gurus teach their proteges tricks. But I want to tell those that bought those tricks that what sells is value not tricks.

If you want to be seen as a beggar, continue asking for the money. Beggars say THANK YOU so I think that your THANK YOU page is that of an IB - Internet Beggar.

Produce value, deliver value and valued buyers will always look for your valuable products.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me (I don't really take note of such things myself), as the end/beginning of every year is usually the time you take stock of everything you've done and start ranting about the regrets/disappointments.

Most people who rant do so frequently.

Just take names and watch... It will happen again...

At the end of 2011, you will have enough fodder to rant about those who rant...

It's more like a chain reaction or food chain.

Sounds like too much work. Skip the middleman:

          Grass > Cow > You.

I think some testing is in order. Give me money on Wednesday, but give me no money on Thursday. Then, on Friday, I will sell you a report on how I felt each day. I suspect I might feel better on Wednesday, but the only way to know for sure is to go ahead with this test. So, give me the money!

For me, all this turned around when I realized that no one was going to give me anything if I didn't ask for it loudly, and give good reason for them to give it to me.
    Loudly? Um, okay...

    GIVE ME THE MONEY!

Already gave you a good reason. Testing, remember? It's just a couple lines back; scroll back if you need to do so.

And remember: It is not bad to ask for money.
Cool. So, then, give me the money!

Remember that the quality of your product will not help you make sales, only lower refund rates and help with repeat business. Obviously they cannot buy your product because of its quality, as they don't get to see that until after they have bought it!

Once you have explained why your product is the perfect fit for the customer and they are ready to buy...

You could extend this to a whole bunch of things.

People put up a wimpy little subscription form in an out of the way place, and wonder why no one subscribes.

They write good articles with useful information, tack on an almost apologetic resource box, and wonder why no one clicks.

One could easily re-write the subject line of this thread to

"You Have to ASK for What You Want!"

Hell, even Aladdin had to tell the genie what his three wishes were...
