I have a work from home site I'm creating and I'm looking for specific places I can advertise my site at low cost. PPC is out of the question do to over saturation of the work at home market. If you recommend forum advertising please tell me what specific forums and web sites you recommend and if it's blog commenting what blogs specifically do you recommend to comment on

If you do a google search for work from home, and then at the top of the page hit the "more" button. It will have a drop down list for blogs and forums, you can find tons of places there.

Also, when you do your search do work from home+forums and it will bring up forum results

    Good Luck!

I frequent a couple of forums for just work at home jobs. Be careful to follow the rules on ads when you post, the mods have lightning fast delete buttons WAHM Forums - WAHM.com - Powered by vBulletin, Work Place Like Home and Work at Home Jobs: Free Legitimate Work From Home Job Opportunities should give you a good start.

Basically do input work from home + forum then you will be given a list of results. WAHM is a big forum that you can join in to get started.

Yes, I agree with forums and blogs, but don't limit yourself to just free advertising on these souces. Contact the form owners and see what they would charge you to run a banner for a month. Same with the blogs.

Additionaly, look into guest posting on some blogs. I would start by finding one with good traffic (on the subject) and then participate for a little while so that the owner gets used to seeing your "face" around. Then send him/her a message and ask he would let you write a guest post.

Look for Ezines/newsletters on the subject and see what it would cost to run a solo ad in one. Sometimes this is very cheap, and often fairly powerful.

Look in the JV section here and see if you can find anyone to advertise for you, or better yet, post an ad in the JV section and see what comes of it.

Someone mentioned article marketing, and I think this is great advice. Write good sydicatable content and if you do it right you can get a lot of traffic.

    Don't forget about YouTube

There are so many traffic sources out there, you just need to dig for it. This is a good place to start :

traffic - WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - Threads Tagged with traffic

How do you write articles on making money at home and make videos without giving away the info that you're trying to sell?

Give away the what and the Why... Sell the how

Some ideas off the top of my head:

Talk about the different kinds of work from home oportunites that exist
Talk about __ ways to find reliable work from home
talk about the __ mistakes people make when trying to work from home
Tell a success story about working from home
Tell a failure story to working from home
What I learned in my time working from home
A checklist on things you need to work from home
How to spot a scammy work from home company
__ common misconceptions about the work from home industry

I could keep going, but you can see it's not that hard. Do a search on EzineArticles for article topics if you want some ideas of the direction you can take it.

About video... anything you can write about, you can make a video about.

These are just some ideas to get your gears turning. I think the paid advertising methods are going to be easier and quicker, but that doens't mean that content marketing will not work.

Have you tried classified ads? I hear people have a lot of success with them.

OK some sites are going to charge you money. Those that are free will be over saturated with ads and not worth your time anyway. Frankly, the key is low cost and I used to use adbrite, but not anymore. They might change back next year. We hope so. That said, they are not cost competitive anymore.

Probably the best bet is to pay people with youtube sites to advertise your site and you pay em. They are literally thousand of struggling youtubers that need money and you need more exposure.

Target those in your own niche when asking for inclusion and your strategy is win - win.

I had this problem when starting up my own business. Definitely take out a classified ad here on Warrior Forums, it is a great starting point.

Personally, I haven't had much luck posting on forums and blogs, at least for gaining direct traffic anyway. If I was you I would look into building your backlink count, and trying to increase your Google rank. This is the best type of advertising as it's free and very powerful. The only downside is it can take a while for you to start seeing results.

      Hope this helps,
      Jake.

You might want to try to target a broader, more generalized audience on sites and blogs such as news, entertainment, etc.. since a significant percentage of the general population is always on the lookout for increasing their income; so when a killer offer is in their face no matter where they are browsing, a good number of them will click the ad.

Try USfreeads, adbrite, solo ads, blog ads, news ads, sites of general interest: got to have a killer offer though, but that's easy enough to do.

My first action would be to buy:

Banner buys above the fold at job board sites like Monster(dot)com...those heavy traffic sites.

You can do that through your google adwords account, if you have one.

Also...if you add CPM advertising on "your site", think burstmedia, it would greatly defer your costs.

You can comment on my blog I am in your niche for a backlink. Use the search engines and find the top sites for your niche with different keyword phrases and just start commenting on their blogs for a backlink. Hope that helps!
