I think there are bots that travel the web finding everything and how many times things have been posted and what not.

I found some new stories where Bing is working with the social sites.

Microsoft is creating a new section of search results on its Bing search engine that will aggregate tweets, Twitter trends and the top links being shared at any given moment by users of Facebook, according to a demo shown a few moments ago at the SMX Advanced search conference in Seattle.

It's programmer's having access to the API's of Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

You'd be surprised at some of the software I've programmed for my personal use can do.

All someone has to do is find a good PHP, or .NET programmer, and get to doing a little bit of work and you'll be shocked at what you can through out. That is if you or the programmer, or both of you, have creative minds and think outside the box.

That is why Google keeps a good watch on a programmers API key to see how many times he's hitting the framework and what he's calling.
