Newbie Question about Hosting Options

Hi everyone
Great forum, I wish I had found you months ago! I have been attempting online marketing for a while now without much success -just simple (crappy) landing pages with afilliate links. So I thought I should take it up a notch and build a quality site that list builds.

Most people seem to use Wordpress and an autorepsonder such as Aweber. When I looked into the cost of setting everything up the autoresponders get quite expensive as the list grows.

I had a look at Site Builit and for the annual cost it seems to be a better option than a normal site/blog with auto responders. It has unlimited autoresponders and the choice of blog style or normal style, all the social networking goodies, and the affiilate program is ongoing and tiered.

So I am curious as to why more people here arent using it? What am I missing?

The links in my sig are to their comparison page and the features seem quite good, (it's black on my screen for some reason but highlighting makes it readable).

I know you will all recognise the top one as an affiliate link and this isnt a post to get sneaky clicks but I thought that if anyone else decides to use it then they might be ok with letting me have the credit. If not please use the non affiliate link below it.

I need to decide if I will switch away from it before the trial period ends.

Thanks for your help.
Steve

    Hi Index/Steve

I started out using Site Build It. It is an excellent framework for people new to marketing online. They have a great support forum. Ken Evoy is an excellent mentor for teaching you Content is King. If you look in the SitebuildIt forum, Site Build It! Forums • Index page, you will find a boatload of avid fans of SiteBuildIt.

Many people have opted out of marketing SBI because they moved off the annual fee program to a monthly fee. Instead of locking in a $75 commission, affiliates receive $25 on each first 3 payments, 20% on monthly renewals thereafter. As you can guess, people often drop the program due to lack of interest, whatever.

Anyhoo. I personally would not choose to market SBI as my first effort at online marketing. I still have an SBI site, but for my new sites I prefer the look and feel and utility of Wordpress. The cost of shared hosting and a domain is about 30% of SBI. Yes, SBI offers an autoresponse tool, but it is very archaic. You are better off spending your money on a true autoresponse tool.

    Good luck!

one thing I can say and advice if you use free hosting is that you have limited access. And time will come those limitations of yours will be reached. And if you use free the owner still have the last word and decision. So matter how old user you are if the hosting owner decides to close there doors you cannot do a thing.

I would suggest you also check out GetResponse if you are looking for a good auto responder. They have strong relations with all major ISPs and that would be beneficial for you. Also check out Marketing Make Over if you want to build a quality website without any prior knowledge of html or web coding

        Cheers,

        Adil
