Did you do keyword research to see what kind of traffic your niche is getting? If you're not seeing results that you hoped for it might be time to reoptimize your content so you're showing up further in the rankings on the SERPS. That and lots of backlinks. Lots of people swear by Angela's links. You might have a better time with posting in the SEO forum for answers.

    Hi
I would imagine that is quite a competitive area. Have you considered targeting a niche in that subject and building from there, so maybe jackets, or shirts or whatever. It would then be much easier then to develop a strategy for SEO i.e. Mens Jackets as opposed to the whole of mens fashion!
    Hope that helps

You could write some articles, directing the reader to your blog. You could start pinging your blog every time you update it.

Good advice all around so far. Remember to be patient and to continue doing what you're doing. Have you tried submitting your articles? Interviews drive traffic well-- maybe you could interview someone popular in the niche. Video promos work well too. Have you considered making a funny video to post on youtube etc.?

    Here's what I'd do:

    • Comment on other blogs in your niche linking back to yours
    • Guest post on blogs in your niche linking back
    • Register with forums in your niche with a link to your blog in your signature
    • Talk about topics in your niche on YouTube with a link back
    • Every time you make a blog post publish it to as many article directories as you can with a link back
    • Also publish to Web 2.0 sites like Hubpages, Squidoo etc
    • Social bookmark each post you make (use social marker or similar).
    Hope that helps,

    ~Russ

Whyfrown - you need a real attractor to get visits. I'm still in the same spot - what is it I'm offering that people will want to click and go see? What non-threatening, interesting, helpful idea can you make available so someone will click to go see?

Look for a real tantalizing action image - some happy guy enjoying using some popular gear. When you find it advertise it repeatedly. My mistake is not creating that consistent visual promotion. It's your repetition that will work.

Go to sites like gq.com for intel as well as getting some backlinks from a high traffic site. They have trend reports, editor's picks, etc. Find out what's hot and while you're there you can leave comments with a link to your site.
Google the hot trend items and note the top ppc ad sites as well as the top organic sites. Go to Alexa, enter those urls and look at the Audience Snapshot. Use software like Keyword Spy and note what keywords those sites are targeting. Develop a focused customer profile and use that to target your SEO and traffic efforts.
Consider running some Facebook ads targeting that profile as you can get very specific with Facebook ads. Armed with all that intel develop a killer press release for your site and post it on webwire, prweb, etc.
While doing your intel, make note of the top bloggers for your niche and start leaving great posts on those blogs, don't leave obvious backlinks, just make great posts. Eventually contact those bloggers to just let them know how much you enjoy their blog. If you subsequently develop a relationship, consider asking them to make a guest post on your blog. Better to do this after you have some traffic to your site. Sooner or later you'll be asked to do a guest post and then you're golden. Good luck.

Find some niche-related message boards and start posting away. Get your nose in "everybody's business" on the forums and go from there. Find five if you can and just make posts everyday with your website (and a catchy advertising line) in your sig line.

Traffic will come pouring in. I do this for every new site that I start and I've easily created some serious traffic in just a few days doing this. It really does work.

how long has it taken you to reach this level. if you've achieved it in less than 2 months you are doing very well, assuming it's organic traffic

100 visitors a day is probably better than the majority of websites get. Keep pushing.

Success is a marathon, not a sprint.

Where are most of those visitors coming from? That is a good amount of visitors, but are they targeted visitors?

a couple of tips i can give you:

    * write detailed reviews concentrating on keywords
    * tag words and phrases you think people will search for. google indexes wordpress tags very well and delivers a lot of longtail traffic off the back of it.

essentially, boost your search engine presence.

I'd supplement what you're doing by setting up a Fan page on Facebook and getting people to like it, as well as write press releases and keyword-targeted articles to drive a burst of traffic to your blog. Be sure to have Facebook and social media buttons on your blog, as this could potentially help your blog go viral starting with just a few initial visitors.

From what I have seen trawling the internet starting out is difficult and you have to have patience and perservience.

I nearly gave up last year but have hit on a product that is now starting to see some results.

This meant using the many different methods referred to above for getting my message out.

It seems so far that all of your strategies are based on social media.

Social media can bring in a lot of traffic but it is still pretty much hit or miss. I'd suggest that you invest some time in search engine traffic.

Search engine traffic is a lot more steady and reliable than social media.

Find keywords that your site is related to and try to rank up for them in the search engines.

The quickest way to rank up is through backlinks.

Rather than just posting gadgets, I would also post articles. For example, therugged.com sold for about $17,000 on Flippa and it wasn't even monetized when it sold. It has lots of articles that men are interested in, not just products. Great content will attract visitors.

    Hey Everyone ,
thank you all so much for your guidance . My friend told me that the answer to all my blogging problems could be found at the Warrior Forum and that really is true ...
well i think that blogging is really interesting thus far in my 4 months ... i mean i am interested in my niche .. but i don't understand how some of you can put in so much effort in blogging about different topics? i mean most of you all set up multiple sites from what i understand? Well i really respect your determination and effort since there is no boss to pressure you and drive you .. the drive comes from yourselves!

and organic searches are the ones that come in by google right? Well the blog has been there for 3 months and i've only started bloggin seriously for the past month . These are the average results from last week.

    1) Direct traffic -30
    2) Search engine - 40
    3) Referring sites - 30

Im currently just writing more and more articles about products . I don't really know how to build backlinks in my niche ...

Thanks for all your valuable advice once again! they will go a long way!
