How long did it take to get your first conversion

It had taken me around six months, and throughout that time, i had wanted to give up so much. It was worth it in the end, to prove to yourself that after hours of endless reading, studying, tweaking and experimenting.

That for some strange reason, a reward is finally paid.

Please share your timings, on how long you had to wait for your first real conversion.

Thanks

It is good to hear that if you are patient the rewards will come. It has been about 5 months for the small start-up company I am working with and we have about two customers so far and a possible third with a lead I found. Hopefully business will pick up.

I want to add that i firmly believe in this six month reward phase.

Now call it what we like, sandbox effect, baby penalty whatever.

But after six months, and it seems like six months on the dot.

I am experiencing massive surges in traffic, i am doing nothing differently, just my same daily routine.

Yet my market is competitive, so in order to stop rapid websites shooting up for quick sales and flooding the market.

I believe there is firm reward for a more stable platform "website" that says to google and other search engines, "That i'm here for the long haul, and i'm staying put"

Good luck everyone, happy new year

7 days. Was trialling Pay Per Click advertising for the first time. Spent $20 and made $190 - so net return (not including my time for keywords research) was $170.

Not too shaby for my first try

It took me a couple months to see a return on some of my earlier works. Wasn't anything to brag about, pennies, but it was a start.

PPC is good but only if you know the tricks. I started PPC and for first week I was loosing money. Then after tweaking and trying finally started making money.

            Hi Guys

It took me 5 months to get my first Clickbank cheque, I wrote a blog post everyday on helping people with business ideas, traffic generation etc.

I turned each blog post into an article, sent it to eZine then other Article directories then, I turned each article into a video and then distributed them via Youtube, other video directories and then via Onlywire.

I also have a fan page on Facebook that has an opt in box to get people to my list which I gave them a free gift in return for name & email address.

I created a large following on Facebook and regularly talked about my blog and all the different ways you can generate traffic etc... Network with your friends on Facebook, it's all about being SOCIAL..

All of this, I monetized via clickbank products, eventually I made my first sale after 5 months and sales have been coming in ever since, not everyday but on a regular basis.

You might think that the 5 or 6 months you spend earning nothing are wasted, but this is not true, you are simply creating momentum during this blank period, this momentum should lead to sales eventually as long as your efforts are being channelled in the right direction.

            All the best

            Keith

it's threads like this that i like to read because i have, over the years, attempted various projects that have not paid off within 6 months and i've just given up. at the moment i have a couple of projects on the go, both under 6 months old, and i'm going to really try and stay focused and not give up - and to see that it took somebody else this amount of time gives me hope, so thanks

I think the most important thing to see a conversion is to stay focused on one thing, and be consistent working that one thing. I've tried several types of MLM's and affiliates. If I stick with one good one, I'd have some success. That's what I'm doing now.
The second most important is advertising investment. I don't have the money for PPC so I need to invest more time. I've been marketing online for a couple of years with no conversion. But I'm not ready to give up!

I had my issues, certainly. It took me a good 3 months before I saw a single $1 come into my bank account. This was after hundreds had left it. But once I got that first sale, I built on it. Now it's easy.

Damn, yall gonna make me feel bad for answering...

I got my first conversion the day my first batch of EZA articles went live. Since it was a new account it took a little bit of time (IIRC around 4 days) to go live after submission, but within a few hours of going live I had a couple sales come in.

The first sale was on PenisAdvantage and the second was on Fat Loss 4 Idiots. I'm pretty sure those are the only two I made sales on that first day, but within the next couple days I also managed to sell a couple copies of Panic Away and Yeast Infection No More. PenisAdvantage was proving to convert considerably more than the others so I quickly shifted all my efforts to promoting it.

At the time I was direct linking straight to the products' sales pages, and was writing my articles short as possible (250 words) to maximize CTR.

For the record: I no longer promote any of those products and my writing/marketing strategies have changed considerable since that time.

I started out as "Bum Marketer" writing articles and linking to affiliate products.

...it took me about a month to make my first sale.
...the second sale came in a week after that.
...after 3 months I was making a sale every other day.

But I was writing several articles per day. After I reaches $500 per month, I invested in a few good courses and learned that having my own website (blog) and link building was a much better long-term strategy.

The first sale does take the longest...once you get over that hump it becomes easier and easier. If you want a 6 figure income, make sure you own your own web properties and at some point build a list.

Good to know your success story. Do you build links by writing articles or any other strategy?

It took me about a month and a half to get my first sale. I've only been doing this since October 10th. I didn't have money to get training so I used Stephen Pierce - Making Real Money On The Internet $1 Free Trial and Internet Marketing Advantage $1 Free Trial which has Commission Blueprint 1 and 2 and some other courses and Brad Callen's 7 Day SEO Training Course.

After craming all that in a one week period. I'm now sitting on page one at #9 for the keyword "how to get rid of lower belly fat" using a blogger blog. ( At the time I didn't have money for my own website lol) I wasn't targeting buyer keywords at the time of building that site.

Anyways 6 months is a long time, but congrats for sticking with it.

Here's a tip that should help you get more future sales: sign up for jvnotifypro dot com

This will help get a jump start on clickbank products that will be released. Allowing you to start building backlinks early for certain products you want to promote. So when that product is released you'll already be on top of Google for that Product Keyword.

I hope I don't get in trouble for leaking that tip lol.

After two weeks of attempting internet marketing about three different blogs, I made my fourth, and on my second day, made $1.94 from one click, and on the third day, I made .88 cents from two clicks. Today's the fourth day and I haven't made anything, but the day is not over yet!

          Congrats!

Just build on that and you'll be seeing $500 days before you know it.

My first sale came exactly 22 days (believe me, I wrote this down after dancing for joy ) after launching my first barebones site, and they've been -almost- daily since then. This isn't with Clickbank so the commission isn't even close to a full-time income yet, but it's a great basis to build from.

I completely, 100% agree with the advice of sticking with ONE thing and keeping at it until you hit success. I admit that I was about ready to give up on that site after 3 weeks of daily work with absolutely nothing to show for it, but now I am glad I didn't.

mine took around 2-3 months after I set up my business but then realised I hadn't added x,y and z. So after tweaking here and there, learning and building my knowledge I eventually made it work. My product was a few thousand dollars so the time may vary from yours. However it is all the same method. If you are finding something doesn't work then improve upon yourself.

It took me about 14 days of proper positioning myself at the pool of conversion until the proper time came for the proper/targeted person to show up and make that first purchase which in turn became my first conversion/sale.

Most newbies want to make quick money and so they do several things. I too did the same, Adsense, PPC, Affiliate and others. But once you know enough about Internet Marketing, pick up your niche and focus only on that for 30 days. You will see results.
