Kind of a silly recommendation request...

So, I want to take my laptop in the living room with me in the evenings, but I don't want it sitting directly on my lap because it's kind of heavy.

Does anyone have a recommendation (a link would be GREAT) for some kind of lap desk that doesn't sit directly on your lap? Like a tray-type thing with legs or something is what I'm thinking. I have a 17" laptop so it's kinda big.

I've looked on Amazon, but jeez, there are SO many to choose from. So I thought I'd ask for a recommendation here!

Thanks in advance!

    Silly questions demand silly answers.

I'd have to look, but at my dad's estate, I am sure he still had those TV dinner trays he used to eat dinner on in the living room.

I could try to find those for you?

p.s. Seriously, there are so many choices. We went with what is basically a pillow, with a plyboard on top of it. Got it at Wal-Mart for like $10.

But I doubt you shop at Wal-Mart anymore, eh?

We're strictly low-tech here (and cheap), so we just use inexpensive cutting boards we picked up at Big Lots for like $3. They're a perfect fit for a 17" laptop, and they keep the fan opening on the bottom clear, where a pillow or other soft item can block it and cause overheating.

Yeah, I have something already that rests on my lap, and I put my laptop on it. But I want something that isn't on my lap...so something that's raised up somehow.

Probably because it gets too hot. Every laptop I've used in the past three years has gotten uncomfortably hot on the bottom, enough that I rather don't like having it there, and I expect Lisa's more fragile and delicate than I am.
