Sorry To Say This But....YOU SUCK!!

Well, actually I'm not sorry, but it sucks that I have too....

Over the past 30 days, I've been having a "customer service"
experience that took me back a little bit. I'm not going to name names becauseof the forum rules, but if that person reads this, I hope they
take something away from it.

I bought a piece of software. Considering what is on the market
for this particular type of software, it would definitely be considered
"high end". Anyway, I downloaded it and installed it, then read the
instruction manual (if you can call it that). I fired it up for the first
time and got an error. So, I uninstalled it and then did a clean install
and got the same error. So, I send a message to the seller, both to
his PM box here as well as the contact email on his website. Guess
what? I didn't hear anything for a week so, I sent another message.
This time I got a reply, but it kind of surprised me.

" I can't be responsible for the errors that your computer gives you"

Really? Ok, well my computer doesn't give me errors for other software
that I run so, I uninstalled again, shut my computer down completely,
and re-installed it yet again. Same thing happens so, I send another
message letting them know that I was getting the same error again
and if I couldn't get it to work properly, I wanted a refund. Then, I
get the following message back....

"Obviously you just wanted software for free, It's people such as
yourself that make it hard for people to earn a living"

Huh? First of all, I have bought more than my share of both information
products and software and I don't think one person can post in this
thread that they have ever refunded me. Maybe I've just been lucky,
but for the most part, I have been happy with the things I have
purchased.

Anyway, I sent him another message letting him know that I thought
he was an asshole and to keep the money. Sorry about the language,
but that is exactly what I said.

I can assure you that I will never make another purchase from this guy
and will make sure to let people on my list know about my experience
as well as people in different situations that I associate with.

When it is added all up, I would guess that his rude customer service
just might cost him a pretty penny in the long run. At least I hope it
does

Jeremy

I wonder if this seller you mentioned manages to do a living online. If so, what's wrong with the world?

Jeremy, if this is a window program, pm me the error and maybe I can help. I can't promise anything but we can try.

I have it sorted now, thanks to someone else that I was telling about
        my experience.

I appreciate your offer to help I just wish that the seller would have
been as willing to lend a hand.

I've had experiences like this before, when you buy a lot of custom software it's bound to happen.

However, I only had one experience where the seller flat out admitted that the software didn't work like the sales page claimed, yet refused to give me a refund.

It was only $40, but it still irritates me to think about it to this day. :/

      Hi Jeremy,

Sorry to hear, but glad you got it sorted.

It sounds like this person is one of those "it's not my fault" types who just refuses to take responsibility. You can be sure that he will not be making many long-term customer relationships with that attitude. But maybe he doesn't care. Doesn't sound like he does.

Never mess with an internet marketer.

We can spread the word so fast, about any crap products or shady software developers.

good internet marketers have a good following of people in the form of lists that can be more than 10,000 people long.

the shady businesses will eventually wipe them selves out, just look at the economy

    Hi Jeremy,

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. Glad to know that you got that sorted out, though.

I wonder how that person feels now? I agree with Nicholas, word will spread like wildfire. That person may have sold you and a couple others a custom software program but with the way he treats his customers, he probably won't do business long.

"Obviously you just wanted software for free, It's people such as
yourself that make it hard for people to earn a living"
    --- tsk tsk.

Jeremy, why not write something over in the review section. You can offer the name of the software in that sub-forum. And you're doing nothing wrong when you objectively describe an experience, and offer a review, over there.

I think that kind of thing would be helpful for other members, and maybe even the sellers.

Jeremy - If you do write a review, could you mention the issue and how it was resolved? It may save someone time in the future.

I never even thought about writing a review. The only thing I worry about is it turning into a 10 page back and fourth type of deal.

Who knows, maybe the guy was just having a bad day?

Still... it's a serious business he's doing here, not a side hobby. He needs to be more professional about and not let his emotions get in the way. Glad to hear it was sorted at the end.

I will be interviewed by KLAS news (Channel 8) in Las Vegas with feeds to CNN in January for my SmokeScents. Watch for it...

I agree with Jeremy, nice site.

Back to topic. Jeremy, was the product at least what you payed for now that you have it sorted out?

If so, then maybe yes, the guy was probably having a bad day.

Well, the software works as far as I can tell. However, it was advertised as coming with a step by step instruction manual which turned out to be about 8 paragraphs or so with affiliate links to other products that he also sells.

So, I'm still not sure exactly how to use it lol but, with the back and forth we had through email and PM I don't think I'll be sending any more messages.

I'll just chalk it up as one more person that I won't spend my money with

    Jeremy,

Post about your experience in the review section. As long as you keep your post targeted to the product itself then it will stay there and serve as a public notice to others considering buying that software in the future.

(We do have a few mods there now to clean the place up so now it's back to being just product reviews like it was intended.)

It is a very common experience nowadays. Customer Service has become a ridiculous affair. Till the sale is made, they are behind you, highlighting the advantage of the products, but once sold, they just turn their face and claim that you have made a mess of it while it worked for many. Well, any marketer should be first taught the nuances of customer service before taking up sales.

He (the seller), has probably had similar complaints in the past (many of them), and instead of finding out what exactly was going on he assumed the worst ... that "they" (his customers) wanted stuff for free. I think this is a prime example of how BAD customer service can quite easily derail your business. Lest we forget.

Unfortunately I can't count the amount of good products etc that have been ruined by poor customer service.

Personally if I had a customer come to me like you did, i would offer an immediate refund if i couldn't be bothered to fix your problem. It's just manners not to mention good marketing!
