About to pull out my hair! RE: Wordpress and long lines of text

Have you ever just had one of those days where everything technical goes wrong and you cannot figure anything out?! Well, today is one of those days.

I normally have no issues with Wordpress, but today I am working on a site where every article I paste into the WP box turns into these long lines of text. I am pulling the content from notepad (I also tried pulling from Open Office). I have tried directly pasting it and also using the little text and Word boxes on WP. Nothing is working. The outsourcer who wrote the articles sent them to me as normal text files and when you open them, they look typical.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to easily fix it?

Have you installed any new plugins. I had a plugin go goofy on me yesterday. Actually, I didn't know what the problem was so I just uninstalled plugins till the problem went away. Finally.

I think I would try logging out of Wordpress, in fact shut down and restart my system just to free up memory and such. Oh, try c/p into another wp website to see if you get the same results.

Can you try to a different blog? Can you type the stuff in without it going goofy?

This is a long shot, but instead of opening the text files in Notepad, open them in Wordpad and try copying from there. I've always found Notepad to do strange and annoying things to text.

That's good advice! Save the document as a text file or even Unicode text document. Both of these should remove all the ugly formatting.

Once in Wordpad, go to the end of each line and delete the newline character and press enter. Do this for each line.

I had something similar happen to me a few weeks back. Silly me thinking that a "text file" didn't have any formatting. I finally pasted it into my html editor and discovered that it had all kinds of formatting, which when removed went right in to my wordpress post page. That might be the challenge.
