1500 Posts! Some Tips For You To Help You In Your Own Journey

I was sure I had reached 1500 posts long ago, but it seems through the deletion of threads that I am back down to 1500, so I thought I would give back to this wonderful forum that has given me so much.

A few tips for you all.

Be consistent. Whatever you decide to do, stick to it. Stop chasing the shiny buttons, because guess what, another shiny button is always around the corner.

Just do it. Stop waiting to the perfect idea tomorrow. Run with the great idea today. Procrastination and waiting for things to be perfect and major time and effort drains. You'll find yourself running in circles never getting anything done this way.

Build relationships. This is a major point and one I always try to drive home. I have built some amazing relationships on this forum over the years, some I would consider family. I won't list you all here, as it would take the entire post, but you know who you are, and I love you all and am forever grateful for that which you have all given me. I have some amazing chances and amazing JV's as a result.

Take everything with a grain of salt. On this forum and online in general you're gonna get a whole lotta advice. Take it with a grain of salt and come to your own conclusions. So many times right here in the forum I see the case of the blind leading the blind, and the advice is down right horrible and sure to screw your whole marketing plan over.

Which brings me to the next point. Treat this like a business. You need to have a plan of attack. You can't just throw ideas around and go in a million directions. Plan things out and you'll end up with much better results.

Do your research. There are a whole bunch of snake oil sellers right here on the WF and a whole bunch more online in general, be cautious with your money, and think twice before you hit the shiny buy now button.

Set goals. This goes with making a plan for your business. If you have goals, even small little ones, you'll find yourself with more drive and find yourself that much more likely to reach those finish lines.

I could really go on and on.

With ten years of being online, I've fallen for every type of scam, I've had my entire business pulled out from under my feet, and I've rebuilt it again. I've made friends, I've made enemies too. But through it all, I kept going because I knew one day I would make it. And I made it big time in the last few years. I've had months where I've made more than I had made in the entire year prior, I've had months where my income dried up and went away. But I'm still here. And after 1500 posts here on the WF, I am thankful to still be among the warriors, and proud to be a warrior.

Best wishes,
Sylvia

I totally agree. Too many times we get caught up on making it the perfect plan or product, and it may never be. Just doing something is better than a million plans on what to do.

All excellent tips, Sylvia. The one that is often overlooked, it seems to me, is the one about building relationships. A lot of little things go into that. There's the obvious, like not throwing around your words carelessly and not attacking others; to more subtle things like clicking the thank you button on a post or even just refraining from commenting at certain times.

    PS - Congrats on 1,500 ... again.

In one post, you have hit the main salient point of success versus failure.

      Just do it.

      Stop worrying about it.

Stop writing BS posts asking people what their greatest "fill in the blank . . . was"

Stop writing BS posts to try and prove how much smarter you are than everybody else.

Just stop waiting around for someone else to send you the magic button for free.

(Well, Sylvia, didn't say those things, that was my own interpretation.

Just start your business right this very minute. And if you have already started, just keep doing it right this very minute.

      Thank you Sylvia.

    Sylvia,
Very, very inspiring closing paragraph. Seems like we have all been there at one point or another. I'm glad to see you always rebounded from those poor performing months and enjoyed magnitudes of success.

Every day is a battle and as long as we win a little at a time we eventually make it to the top. I look forward to seeing you there!!

    Respectfully,
    Tim

Congratulations, Sylvia. I think you've outlined quite well the challenges, thrills and vicissitudes of being an internet marketer. It'll have many ups and downs, and many unpredictable events will come and go, and because of this it is so crucial for people to be consistent and focused in all that they do in IM.

It's unpredictable enough as it is, and you do not want your inconsistency to further complicate matters. You've also hit on a point which is often overlooked, which is networking and building relationships. No one is an island in the IM niche, and in order to be truly successful you have to have relationships and JVs to help drive your business forward. As you've already stated, this forum is a great place to network and form the crucial relationships which will take you to the next level in IM!

Thats very sweet of you, but I don't wish ill on anyone. They had their reasons for doing it, and I won't be the one to judge them for it. Sometimes it's the only choice that could be made for them.

Thank you everyone else for your congratulations and comments, they are much appreciated. (My thank you button has run out for the day.)

      Best wishes,
