Clickbank: How much can you rely on affiliates?

First, Happy New Year to all Warriors!

I was wondering, when one launches their own info-product using Clickbank as the payment vehicle... what should be the general expectation when it comes to affiliates automatically picking up and start promoting your product?

This is given if you already have a quality product, quality sales page, nice commi$$ion for affiliates, and all the other bells & whistles in place. At this point, once my product is listed in the Marketplace on CB, should I expect that a bunch of affiliates will automatically start promoting my product and bringing sales, or am I completely wrong here? Thanks for any input.

Hi I have come to know that in the situation that you have described , your offer to affiliates will be a key factor here!

I understand that the big boys with the top selling products have already done their own market testing , typically with PPC, developing sales text and banners proven to work, with accumulated ctr, conversion stats that can be provided on the affiliate pitch/support page page, before they place the product on clickbank.

If your just coming out of nowhere and don't really have relationships with anyone you should expect that you won't much for affiliates.

You need to treat getting affiliates as it's own launch to maximize the number, and beyond that it's best to get out and meet people.

I have marketed 2 clickbank products reasonable well, and for both the ebook owners approached me direct. They explained their book, average conversion rates and refund rates etc. Both sent copies to review too. One of the company's actually employed a marketing professional to help them, the other did it by themselves. Even with a marketing company behind you your product may still fail. People (like me) will only promote it if it converts well. So you need to test your banners, your landing pages, videos, checkout pages (upsells etc) thoroughly.
