Collecting Leads on a Sales Page?

I realize that it is super important to collect leads and build a list for the IM business. I am in the planning process for a product that I want to sell with PPC. So I am going to hire a copywriter and a designer and make a killer sales page. One that will be designed to convert a qualified prospect for my product into a buyer of my product.

Here is my question: what is the best way to capture leads on that page (compliant with google's TOS obviously)? In the sales copy do I have an opt-in box? Or should I have a lightbox? Or only ask them to opt-in if they're on their way out? What is the best way to approach this?

All those things you need to test for. Each niche has different response numbers so you need to get use to what your visitors like, don't like, etc.

IM is nothing more that doing a lot of studying, research, correcting, and patience then repeat.

      Hi Francisco:

I would be interested to find out whether you are using the search network or the content network for PPC?..

It is my plan to use the search network to begin with and hopefully expand to the content network once I have split tested lots and have a nicely converting page.

As someone already pointed out very rightly that after doing your research on would-be visitors , your offer would be key here to generate leads..How valuable is your offer to that visitor?

Well my offer will be a physical product, in this case a nutraceutical. I am not really sure what I would offer to get an opt-in instead of a sale......

you can try a free PDF on a relevant subject of value concerning your physical product e.g. "5 effective strategies on how to effectively build your downline with your product"..Something like that..

Thank you Adil that is a good idea I will think about that. I hope that the copywriter I hire will have experience with this and will be able to recommend some details to test this.

Your key question seems to have been over looked ... I no longer used adwords, but when I did you could not use a facebox or drop-in so you would need alternative optin options such optin bars of forms within the page like you would have in a squeeze page.
