Just before I give up on Internet marketing

First of all, i want to say happy new year to all Warrior forum members. Its being great learning from the gurus.

I have been trying hard to market online. My recent one is a product i am currently marketing from amazon. Its in the Consumer electronic niche. I made a blog for it in blogger, posted about 13 articles on it. Digg and ping all the articles. Posted one article to ezinearticles. Then i social bookmark the pages with socialmarker.com.

So far, i have 2 clicks to my Amazon link and no sales. My google adsense page impression rose to 103 but no clicks. My stats on my blog is around 131.

My blog is about 2 weeks old and honestly am getting tired of not seeing result. Is this normal? Should i continue or look for another product to promote?

Your urgent responses will be appreciated.

God bless everyone.

First, you should make keyword research. After buy a domain name, targeting that keyword.Make posts, submit them to article directories, build backlinks for your site, rank on the first page of google and make money :d

Dont lose hope. Patience is a virtue. It is always a good idea to continue what your doing, it is not necessary to give up on the things you have just started. If i am you, i will continue it. One of the line of justin B. is " never say never " got it?
    Go for your GOAL !

I have a product out called Zombie Blogging.

In that product, I recommend more or less the approach you've taken here.

However, I recommend that you do this several times and don't expect to see any results for eight to twelve weeks.

On my own end, one blog with this approach only makes a couple cents a day at best, and less than a penny a day on the average.

Relax. Give it time. While you're waiting, start more blogs.

Agreeing with Caliban here, in that you should make more blogs, I'll also add something.

If its not something that is a hot item, or a script that brings in traffic, or a site that just ranks awesomely, you won't see much conversions at first. It will take work. And perseverance. You're tired after two weeks? Shhooooooot. I've been at this 6 years, and I didn't make a penny for 4 of them. Trial and error can really eat up time, and I had ADD from hell.

But make more blogs, heck, make websites to just park for adsense, throw articles up on them. Or, shell out some cash and have someone write another product for you in a different niche, sell that through ejunkie (you can find a coupon to try them for 30 days for free if you just look for it) and you'll be able to sell products online.

Submit a sitemap to Googles webmasters tools. Like Ncmedia said, make youtube videos (just make a powerpoint and talk as you present it, post it on youtube!), write more articles, and use more web 2.0.

Do you have a squidoo? hubpage? Wet Paint page? All can help drive more traffic to where you want it to go.

This is a business, and you will have to work at it to make it work for you. No exceptions.

Good recommendation here form Sean. I've been following two marketers on hubpages and between the both of them thay have almost 600 hubpages all in different niches online with most of them on the first page of google in the top 3 spots.

I can only imagine the traffic and sales they are generating with their virtual hubpages empire.

        Respectfully,
        Tim

What you are doing is exactly what I was doing, which is next to nothing and expecting results... I dont work like that... I had and still have problems with landing pages, yes I can knock up a wordpress blog in 30 minutes, then add content, artilces and so on..

My problem is how much content so add, and what to put on the landing page i nearly always end up copying the sales page for CPA offer or whatever I am promoting.

I would really like to know..

          1. CPA offer - How big does my bloag have to be 1 page, 2 pages, 1 post 10 posts ?
          2. What is the best way to get a landing page up, just what do you put on the page??

    Hi there...

Firslty, if I am honest, first you need to work on your consistency and persistence because without these attribute you will struggle to become successful in Internet Marketing from my experience.

One of my businesses is to affiliate products from Amazon therefore I am speaking from experience. In order to become a successful Amazon affiliate, you need to follow the following steps:

Step 1: Identify a product that you would like to promote

Step 2: Check how many people are searching for this particular product i.e. searches per month using Google keyword tool

Step 3: In addition, also check whether it is a seasonal product

Step 4: Once you happy with searches per month then check for competition. You can do so by typing Allintile: keyword into Google search engine.

Step 5: Repeat steps 2,3 & 4 until you are happy with the result

Step 6: Register a domain with exact keyword that people are typing in Google

    Step 7: Host the site

Step 8: Populate the site with relevant content

    Step 9: Conduct on-page optimisation

    Step 10: Market the site

Step 11: You must repeat step 10 consistently in order to make a success of it

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes for 2011

Failure can't live with persistence, but giving up after 2 weeks and so little promotional effort is not exactly what I would call persistence to be honest!

just now i read a thread about "not giving up and then achieve $xxx" and then i read this thread. surely the opposite.

i second ncmedia's and ktmakwana post

"not giving up" is the basic ingredient, the rest is "more effort" IMHO.

What I will add is that you should get a paid domain. Using a Blogger subdomain will do little to help the credibility of the product you are selling. You can PM me if you want us to work together.

I'd say your results are normal.

I don't why people think their first attempt will get amazing results. Unless you have hundreds of articles out there or your articles are being featured on high traffic sites you'll need to keep a constant stream of them out there to get good results.

You're doing some of the right things you just need to stop looking back and just keep doing more.

  • Don't give up yet!! Two weeks is not enough time to determine if this venture is going to work. I would keep writing articles, submit them to different article directories. Work on building back links. Also, create more blogs. I would take the advise of others here and think about getting a domain name with your keyword in it. Just don't quit!!

Internet Marketing these days, is more about 'Quantity' you cannot expect immediate result until you have your list. Two kind of people are successful in it, either have LODS of money, so using mass buy they can give thousands of leads and thus massive lists in days or, you need to work hard and add 10-20 people a day. Build list. It works.

You're going to have to put in more work and time than that. Despite some of the tricks out there, IM still boils down to hard work!

As a long-time blogger, I can give you advice there. The quality of your articles makes a HUGE difference. Poor-quality, boring articles convey a poor-quality, boring product.

Do some keyword research and write about 50 articles and submit them to the top 10 directories and make 50 video's and submit them to about 10 video sites starting with You Tube.

Come back in 2 months and report how much money you have made. It won't be enough to leave your job, but you will know how to make money and you can start a new project which should bring in the same amount of money as the first one.

After about 6 of these projects which could take about a year you can start thinking about leaving your job, if that is something you would like to do.

      Good luck
      Clint

Hey! You should not be disappointed immediately, you're not the only one experiencing this, and besides, on the very first day that you've done this, you should already knew that there are some possibilities that it may be getting to this situation so you must be ready for this.

You need to write more articles and build some more backlinks to your blog. 2 weeks isn't very long at all in terms of drawing organic traffic.

Just wait, the money will start rolling in

You'll have to ramp up your efforts and set up multiple profit centers in the form of different blogs which will obviously be targeting different products, and you'll have to write many more articles.

The method you're implementing is effective, but it is a numbers game and in order to see appreciable results you'll have to do a lot more - set up more websites, write more articles, and drive more traffic to them (if you can create videos it'd be really helpful in generating more traffic).

You're also going to have to be a lot more patient, because this is not an 'instant' method and it'll take several more weeks before you'll see the results of your work. With article writing, there is usually a delayed response and the effects are cumulative, so you'll see results increase over time as you do more.
