Does a domain name really matter in this situation?

Alright i have decided to create a news site. Yes a Google News site. I have been browsing to see how other news have it. I am talking bout the keyword 'news' included in the domain. e.g abcnews.com, xyxnews.com etc.
So for those who have created news website before, do you think i need to have that 'news' keyword included in my domain for it to be accepted as a GN source?

Generally you want something that is easy to remember and can easily be keyed in that way you aren't losing traffic by word of mouth if you are looking for a good brand.

SEO wise having the keyword in your domain does help a lot that is why EMD domains are so desired but imho in your situation you'd also want to consider other aspects such as branding and naming so having a longtain EMD probably doesn't serve your purpose.

No it is not a neccesary to add "NEWS" in domain.

Main Part is content and SEO
content is king that which rule
and SEO is lifeline of Website

e.g. bbc, and similar website does contain word NEWS

I never tried this at all so I could be wrong.

But I don't think it has to do anything with the domain at all. I would think they are all human approved to be included. So content and daily updating for a long period of time is what would matter.

It's up to you to decide. You can do both and they are both fine for everyone.

The only thing here is that the word "news" in the domain makes it clear for everyone what the website is about before even visiting it.

Other than that, it has no advantages even for SEO purposes, as it's extremely hard to rank anywhere in the top 1000's for the keyword "news". I know you didn't mention it, but in case you have this idea on mind then simply let it go :-)

I would suggest that if you won't use "news" as one of the keywords, try to use news related keywords such as "info", "alert", "talk"...

While it is not required to use "news" in the domain to get it into Google News, I would stick it in there anyway if possible - an informative URL will make people more likely to visit your site.

It's not required to have the word news in your domain and most of them don't. Many of them have branded domain names. Just do a search in Google News and take a look at some of the sites to get an idea of the kinds of domains.
